I have to be transferred to and from my wheelchair with a Hoyer-style patient lift. Not all lift slings are created equal. We’ve encountered many different ones in doctors' offices over the years, and owned several as well. This is the best one we’ve tried, for the following reasons. The relatively narrow leg supports that give it the "inverted U" shape means that there’s a lot less material for the caregiver to pull under the patient. The flimsy ones that hospitals and clinics use (basically disposable) are useless in this respect. Also, because it doesn’t extend under the patient, it’s convenient for bathroom necessities. It is made of very strong, heavily double stitched ballistic nylon type fabric, which won’t tear, stretch, or fray, and withstands repeated washing. It comes in four sizes - I'm 200lbs and use a medium. No additional chains or straps are needed - the straps (with a choice of loop lengths) reach the hooks on the lift with no problem. We bought this new one to replace the one we’ve used for the past decade, which is still intact and working, but was starting to look a bit tatty. The old one is now a perfectly functional spare. It comes with a rigid head support, but for patients who don’t have weak neck muscles, this can be removed, which makes it more manouevrable. Highly recommended.

I bought this sling because it is very nice for getting on and off while sitting and it works well overall for transfers. The only con is it's not very comfortable to leave on for a while in your wheelchair, so it's only an issue if you leave it on for a while. Highly recommend!

Perfect sling for multi-purpose lifting...bed, chair, wheelchair, floor, shower, commode, etc. Wonderfully constructed and dries quickly when wet. A true life saver!!!!

It doesn’t have adjustable straps on top. It’s too thick and rigid to roll up and put under me while I’m laying in bed. The material is very rough it will scrape up my skin. I thought this was a great deal but they don’t take returns… You can see why they won’t

The leg sections are really wide and stiff as a board with sharp trim on the edges - they are hard to maneuver, not flexible and certainly not comfortable . Poor design features - I do not recommend.

I have purchased two of these slings for use by a wheelchair-bound young adult. They are soft where it needs to be soft and it's easy to put it around and take it off her when not in use. The head support is fantastic and has a plastic form inside of a flap that ensures proper head support. Highly recommended. One of mine is over a year old and other than a bit of wear that is just visible, not mechanical, it still works perfectly. Great product, worth the money.

This will not hold the patient in anything approaching a sitting position because the top straps have no sections to allow this to happen. Drive medical sells a universal that has three sections in all the straps that help keep the patient somewhat upright. It's hard to use this one to transfer a patient to a chair or car. It works fine transferring a patient from a chair to a bed, however.
