This drill through stainless steel like it’s butter, I couldn’t find cobalt drill bits that could drill through a stainless steel, got this drill bit and using a drill press it was so easy.

They wanted $600 for this exhaust flange on my diesel, what the heck its just a metal doughnut like a gym weight !4 stainless steel bolts broken off, pitting corrosion.Read reviews saying these types of bits break but mine didn't, just push is a straight direction and take your time. They did not even seem to dull. Now I am just thinking were did I put them, I did this project many months ago and its only asking for a review now.

I bought this to drill some hardened knife blanks with. It broke after about 8 holes but it did drill the hardened steel with no issues until it snapped. I would and will buy another one.

I ordered this bit because I needed something that could drill into a 20 CV blade hardened to 63 HRC as well as the little hardened piece of Steel that holds the detent ball, with a couple squirts of WD-40 it drilled into the hardened steel like a normal drill bit drills into Pine, it blew me away because previously I had tried titanium nitride and Cobalt bits neither one of them even put a blemish on the metal, I actually had to hold back as to not go all the way through the blade

Quick ship and it Worked!!! So years ago I broke off one of the top differential cover bolts on my car and didn’t bother with it since any leak was minimal and it was again at the top. Finally restoring the Fbody and wanted to get the bolt out. Ordered 3/32 and 5/64. Center punched the bolt as best I could and started drilling slowly with 5/64 and cutting oil (in my case gear oil). Was going slow and made a decent hole but wanted to make it bigger with 3/32. I went to drill with the 3/32 and forgot I put the drill in reverse. The 3/32 acted like a left hand bit and pulled the bolt right out. I thought I had more drilling to do but apparently not! Great bits to have. All praises be to TMH!!!

Was using this bit to drill a hole in hardened stainless. I used lubricant/coolant specific for drilling and prolonging the life of drill bits. After drilling one 1/8” deep hole the bit would not drill. Inspection revealed the tip was broken off. This was a waste of money. Pick a different bit.

One special job require the most capable drill I could purchase. I tried HSS drills…it was like ice skating on my job;, cobalt was next try, but that was the same. So this job required a tungsten carbide twist drill if it was going to be successful. The steel to be drilled was harder than a kingpin/bolt; about Rockwell C65. This drill was not inexpensive but cheap drills would surely just waste time. I am pleased to tell you that this drill went through this very very hard steel like it was cheese. Slow speed, mounted in a drill press, plenty of cutting oil, moderate but constant and consistent pressure and …success. In fact two holes in two pieces of steel; so perfect.🤗

I normally don't write reviews but I felt the need to for these. I bought 4 sizes of these, 5/32, 3/16, 9/32, and 5/16. I'm a knife maker and I had 20 plus year old, 1/8 inch thick, 154CM high carbon stainless steel. I tried milwaukee cobalt bits who work great for most high carbon steels but they did nothing but burn out on this strong steel. I did not change the speed of the drill press at all and just stopped a few times to add more cutting oil and boom...4 perfect holes in some very, very tough knife steel. Knife makers, I found your answer. I have only used them a little so I don't know how they wear over time but I hope this helped. They are worth the money! One of the holes was smaller and I tried a cobalt bit of a larger size and it still didn't work!

This bit goes through hardened carbon steel like it's nothing. I've seen some other reviews complaining that it broke the first time they used it, but I've used mine many times now. You just have to be careful and not force it through. Because the bit is so hard, it is also brittle. It will do the job if you let it, but will shatter or snap if you try and force it. Treat your tools well and they'll treat you well. I'm very happy with my purchase. Great quality for the price. 5 Stars
