My RV came with the Lippert thin shade ready frames in both doors. Purchased a pair of these and within 6 months both of them would not stay up. 8 months later the shade has detached from the top and bottom rails. Total garbage

I've read reviews on quite a few of these different sunshades that are installed in prepped doors, and I was not going to buy one until I came across this particular one. I will update tge review if it canges. Across the board, people were commenting how the shade does not stay fully up, or down, and how flimsy it was. This particular shade is made of metal instead of plastic, and seems sturdy. Some of what I read was people were using it to block out the sun for the season. One can assume if you do that, then over time the shade will fade, and probably deteriorate. I don't plan on using it for that. I will use it for mostly at night. Instead of installing it top to bottom, I installed it bottom to top. That was I can peek if needed, but still have privacy, and less sunlight in the morning when we have guests. If I get 1 year out of it, u will be happy, but honestly, the quality is great and I think I will get more than a year out of it. Plus you get two in the package.

We got this so we didn't have to worry about moving around at night or in the morning and the next camper over seeing more than they bargained for. This was a less expensive version than others and it works just like we wanted too. The installation was pretty straightforward. Not as easy as it look it took several attempts before I got it in securely. Ultimately we decided to put it in upside down, but it works well for our needs. One thing to remember, close the door when it rains. The material on the shade can still get wet.

Really like the honeycomb design as the OEM shades have pleats that don't always fold correctly. Sturdier by way of comparison. Fairly easy to install but had to use a nylon trim removal tool to lever the fastening end away from the window so I could secure them in the Lippert Thin Shade frame tracks. So far it's been three days and not having the issue with the adhesive giving out as reported by other buyers, we'll see how they hold up. Overall a much better product than the OEM shades that are prone to warping and not folding neatly.

We had two Lippert Thin Shades installed in our travel trailer for less than 1 year each and they both deformed. I was looking for an alternative and the aluminum construction of these shades caught my eye. They were easy to install and feel substantially more study and function better than our OEM thin shades. Buy these, they are way cheaper and much better built.

I previously order a "name brand" shade, and when it arrived it was defective...and very flimsy. This shade, however, is built much more robust. I love it. Super easy to install.

Had purchased two of the name specific sets of blinds in the 3 years we've owned this camper. Both times the plastic for the top part warped under the heat of direct sunlight and would eventually just fall down whenever it wanted. I was looking for a shade that would fit my 'Lippert prepped' RV door that had metal parts. This one priced at slightly less than the name brand, the top and bottom parts - which secure the shade in the door - are made of metal and unlikely to warp with exposure to heat. The shade travels up and down very smoothly, and the pull is also based on a metal design. As an added bonus, the shade itself is two cell - where the name brand had just been a single cell shade. That means more light is stopped, and the outside part of the shade is actually white so it will absorb less heat. The main door is just outside our bedroom, and the extra layer means we are able to sleep in much better!Overall, a solid recommended buy. This device does fit exactly in the name brand prep. Metal parts mean no more having to replace just because the plastic deformed over time. Raising and lowering is a breeze, and it captures more light than the name brand. I expect this will last longer than a season, and with a lower price than the name brand, is an overall much better value.

Oddly, my new 5th wheel camper did not come with a door shade. It was however, Lippert thin shade ready. I was considering the Lippert shade but the reviews were poor and the problem was due to poor design and weak materials. I chose this shade because the material that holds it in place is made of aluminum instead of plastic and the shade is not a pleated shade but a stronger octagonal shaped shade that looks much more durable. It snapped into place with ease, slides easily, blocks out the outside light and looks very nice. I just put it in so time will tell but I’m confident that I will get some mileage out of it. If there is a problem in the future I will update this review. I am very happy with my choice.
