You have to make sure you put this one correctly - it relies on friction of the velvet against the cap to stay on. If you have the headband on backwards the wig will slip off, turn it around and it will stay well. I don't use a wig cap over my bio hair and just use this grip. I don't have any monofiliment wigs right now so I don't worry about the band showing through the part too much, its easy enough to cover if its seen. It gives me a great sense of security that my wig won't slip off. I like that the velcro closure is tapered on the end so it won't jab at my nape either. Highly recommended!

Gotta admit, this works well. Holds my hair in place and now I don't have to use the side clips which was irritating and also creating some hair fall. Now, the hair just sticks in place. Thank you.

Definitely kept my wig from slipping, but also made my head hurt after a while, since it made the wig tighter on my head. This wig is already at its loosest adjustment, so I couldn't remedy the situation while the wig grip was on my head.

These wear really nicely and are very comfortable. They're made well and the velvet is very grabby, and it has a very thin profile so doesn't add a lot of bulk. I've tried a few brands and these are by far my favourite.

The Physics of a Wig GripUnderstanding the Wig GripA wig grip essentially acts as a mechanical device that utilizes the principle of friction to secure a wig to the wearer's head.Friction: The Key PrincipleFriction is a force that opposes relative motion between two surfaces in contact. It can be divided into two types: * Static friction: This is the force that prevents an object from starting to move when a force is applied to it. * Kinetic friction: This is the force that opposes the motion of an object that is already moving. How Wig Grips Utilize Friction * Velvet's Role: The rough side of the velvet creates a surface with numerous microscopic bumps and ridges. These irregularities increase the contact area between the velvet and the hair or wig cap. * Increased Contact Area: A larger contact area means more points of contact between the two surfaces. This increases the normal force, which is the force exerted by one surface perpendicular to the other. * Higher Friction Force: According to the formula for friction (F_friction = μ * F_normal), a higher normal force leads to a higher friction force. This stronger friction force is what holds the wig in place.Additional Factors * Material: Velvet's texture and composition make it particularly effective for this purpose. Other materials with similar properties could also be used. * Design: The design of the wig grip, such as its width and shape, can influence its effectiveness. * Hair Type: The type and texture of the wearer's hair can also affect how well the wig grip works. In essence, a wig grip works by harnessing the force of friction, exploiting the microscopic irregularities of the velvet surface to create a strong bond between the wig and the wearer's head.Google Gemini

I've been losing my hair steadily for 2 years. Some auto-immune thing. Nothing helped, so i dug into my stash of very cool wigs, and started wearing them again. Then, they were for fun. Now, it's a necessity and i enjoy them. My hair was always fine. So the thinning and bare spots had to be covered. I saw these several years ago, but it didn't seem like a big deal. I finally bought a few, and i'm getting more.I can't figure out the magic of how they worked, but they work fantastically. I had been doing the tedious cap and bobby pin thing. The pins actually took more hair with them. Time-consuming, and i'm usually in a rush. There's barely anything around the perimeter of my head for pins to grasp onto, The pins would slide around after a few hours and pull from the wig occasionally. I detest the whole bobby pin routine if I have no hair to pin them to.I tried these on as soon as I got them. Soft and smooth. It went on quickly. There's no learning curve. I wet the area i was placing it on, as someone suggested. It gripped right away, felt great, and stayed in place all day with the velcro adjustment. Keeping my wig in place the entire time. No headache. I don't even think about how my hair looked and checking it as the day went on, like I usually did.The velcro is strong. The band is as snug (or not) as I want it. I got the nude. But i don't think it really matters about the color because my wigs are part-less and easy to style. The gripper is easily moved to adjust where you want it.It adds a lot to your confidence if you're self-conscious or not used to wearing wigs. I think they're perfect for those undergoing chemo. It does not slip at all on the bald areas. I haven't figured out how it grips the head and the wig..... but who cares? I'm ordering more. I tried it with scarves and headwraps that slip because of my small head and the hair loss patches. They grip great and the scarves look great.I don't know if all the brands of these wig/scarf grips are as good. I'm just sticking with what i know works. These are a blessing.

These are a game changer for keeping your wig in place! I can vigorously shake my head including upside down, and my hair/wig doesn't slip or budge. If you have a larger head as I do, these will fit you comfortably. No headaches or migraines.. I can see these being extremely useful/helpful for people with smaller or regular sized heads. Trust me when I say that these bands will make a huge difference for those of you with smaller heads. For my fellow larger headed people, you know how hard it is these days to find units that fit properly. Including without hair like me.☆☆ Naturally if bald as I am, these are an absolute MUST, as the very last thing one wants is for our wigs to slip or fall off especially if at work, hospital, or in public in general. Of course there are many wigs that won't fit no matter how you slice the cake. But the beauty of these is that they'll also give a great grip for wigs that aren't a great fit, but you can still get it on. Making it so that you can still work with less than ideal fitting ones. Well made. Excellent color options for different skin tones or wig colors. Both bands are in one package. Excellent value for money. Also come in the option for lace front wigs. While I don't love those ones as much as I do these ones, they still work excellent, and definitely serve their purpose.Seriously cannot recommend highly enough!!There are more expensive versions of these. The only difference is that the more expensive ones have thicker velvet. If you are on a budget, these get the job done perfectly. I give mine a gentle hand washing and let them hang dry. I've since purchased quite a few more packs of these.I've also gifted them to some ladies I've met with similar illnesses, and going through cancer treatment whom have small heads or even larger heads like mine. I've also gifted some to much younger friends that do cosplay that have small heads. I tend to always have an extra one on me when I do go out. By the time I've gotten back home I've usually ended up giving my extra one away.Everyone I see frequently at the hospital or various clinics, that I've given one or a new pack of these to, have all fallen in love with these just as much as I have. I seriously cannot imagine wearing my everyday/daily use wigs without one now. I refuse to! Especially due to having no hair.Hope this helps. :)
