I have played this horn now for two months. My findings are it is tuned flat. All slide are pushed in and still a little flat. It gets worse as it warms up. The Bb rotary vale is sluggish but works. Maybe over time with use it will free up. The Bb rotary valve cover plate was cross threaded a little and had to use a tool to get it off. Getting it back on was difficult but managed to do so without damaging the threads any more. It is labeled as (Professional). I find that over rated. I miss the spit valve also which my Yamaha has. The nickel plate is beautiful, fine craftsmanship for $570. I like my Yamaha YHR-567 better. it comes with a really nice case. we will see how it holds up over time.

So this is a new instrument for me, I'm a drummer and guitar Strummer. My son has actually taken interest in the French horn, but this is a bit too big for him at this stage, so I'll keep it in the attic and pull it out when he gets a little older. We both gave it a little test and we were able to get some noise out of it with stagely sounded like a horn, lol. But seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a French horn in person but as far as I can tell if it seems like a decent one, doesn't seem cheap to me, but what do I know? The carrying case is not the highest of quality, but at least you get a case with it. I've seen what looks like the same French horn for cheaper here on Amazon, although I've seen once more expensive that look to be the same, so they may be differences in these horns that the uninitiated, like me, can't pick out.
