The dealer repair for this issue is to weld the factory nuts to the adjuster sleeve, which makes future adjustments difficult and time-consuming. Went for an alignment in my 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4. I was told by alignment mechanic that I had a factory recall on the original adjuster and that the fix was to make the adjustment and weld the nuts. When I needed another adjustment they had to grind the weld off, re-adjust and re weld the nuts. I looked it up and they were correct. I found this replacement part on line and purchased it. Alignment mechanic had no problem installing it. Saved my self an extra 200 dollars every time I need to align my truck. Note: for DIY people, I asked what the torque is for the nuts. The mechanic said he doesn’t go by that because it’s different for different clamps. He said what ever you do don’t collapse the clamps as it damages them and that’s why he doesn’t go by torque. He snugs them down to make sure they are tight with no movement. Make sure the nylock nuts are in good shape. What he said makes sense. There is about a 3/8 to 1/2” gap between the clamp after he adjusted it.
