If you have an older P2 Volvo, it's good to have one of these as a spare as the original one will eventually break.

This brake cylinder vacuum for brake booster worked for my vehicle, even though it was not listed to work on my vehicle or for my vehicle.Volvo does not have brakes when cold or your brakes are not working properly. This solenoid will boost your brakes, especially in the morning or when your vehicle is cold this is a must need part if your vehicle breaks are not functioning properly very happy with this product.

My Fault: I should not have purchased this item. I was fitting an electric vacuum pump to a diesel engined vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser), and the vacuum was not "holding" in the line so the pump ran continuously. I finally corrected the problem by moving one of the vacuum check valves closer to the vacuum pump outlet line = problem solved.

Was skeptical because it’s a quarter the price of others I came across but worked perfectly - so far so good! Very pleased

Direct fit, very easy to replace but that has nothing to do with the switch itself. Seems of good quality, tested proper operation of all check valves and vacuum switch. Time will tell. Took me a while to find it as the cross references to OE parts are not the greatest. That could be improved in the posting. Certainly the best price I was able to find after an exhaustive search.Update: It died after 10 months. At least died open so the vacuum pump won't get stuck running and burn. Now struggling to get a warranty replacement as Amazon only gives me automated options. However it states it will honor posted manufacture's warranty and Dorman lists a limited lifetime warranty.

As I was servicing my air filter I managed to crack the the housing of the OEM version of this part in my car.Since the Volvo part was about 2x the price of this part and it's just a plastic blob with a diaphragm and a switch inside, I thought I'd give this aftermarket part a shot.No bueno. It worked for a few months while the weather was warm. As it got colder into fall, the part worked worse and worse until once we hit freezing outside, the diaphragm no longer works and it leaves the vacuum pump on all the time, no matter now long the car is on.There is no vacuum problem; if you measure the vacuum on the line, it's solid even with the switch unplugged. So basically... it only works in warm weather.Given that the OEM part is only 2x the price (and still less than $100) I see no reason to try the aftermarket version of this part any longer. Discarded and replaced with OEM, which is now working fine, even though it's cold outside.

Exotic part . I'm grateful for having it available on Amazon. Be prepared to struggle a bit with hose removal.
