Very well packed in a well protected box, arrived safe. Nice part, comes with all of the neoprene needed. Easy swap out with old (rusted out, leaking) part. Removal of front grill seems quite necessary. I live in the rust belt, therefore I’m always addressing rust issues on the old Silverado.. Dorman has always worked for me, despite their bad rep these days. Recommended!

A small pinhole leak required change of the Power Steering Cooler (14 years old). At a significant discount to the OEM, this is a worthy substitute. Installation problems (if any) will have nothing to do with this cooler as it fits the 2 x 10mm bolt holes almost perfectly. Comes with a power steering hose on one line as shown in the picture along with 2 clamps and protective loom. I chose to disconnect both hoses at the old cooler so didn't use the hose, but did use the loom and 2 clamps. Removal and installation at a slow pace in the driveway with a coffee was under 2 hours.I used a pair if tin snips to cut the single ear band clamp and the old cooler. A tack remover makes for quick removal of the push plug connectors on the upper radiator cowling. Full size 3/8 ratchet with 10mm socket can be used for the removal of the 2 cooler bolts. If you can squeeze your arm down between the headlight assembly, frame and the side radiator cowling then you get to work 2 handed to remove and reinstall. I found cutting off the push plug connector at the top of the side cowling saved my arm from a few scratches as I reached down. Re-attached with a zip tie when I was finished. The hardest part is removing the old hoses from the old cooler. Take your time and be careful as twisting the hoses will transmit rotation through the hoses all the way to the pump / reservoir. Best to make small back and forth turns of about 10 degrees while pulling (hence the need for 2 hands). Don't be tempted to turn 360degrees while turning and pulling.

I have a 2008 Silverado Z71 4x4 with a 5.3 and the unit fit perfect and the hose was the exact length as the existing unit. 2 bolts 2 hose clamps....done. Works great.
