Solved my issue that the speedo would stop working in the middle of a drive. 2005 Silverado 4x4 5.3 with the New Venture 246 transfer case. (The sensor is the top one on the passenger side)

I purchased this to fix the erratic speedometer with the transmission getting stuck in gear when speedo gets stuck on 0 issue. This was an exact swap for my OEM speed sensor which goes into the transfer case, everything lined up perfect, but it made my issue 10x worse! I'd be driving along and anytime I slowed down near 20km/h, the speedo would drop to 0 and the transmission would get stuck in 1st gear. I went to a local store and they had an OEM GM genuine one in stock, swapped it out in the parking lot and now she drives like a dream, better than ever before and problem is solved. I was obviously sent a faulty sensor, not worth the headache IMO. Spend the extra $30 and get the GM Genuine sensor.

This aftermarket part looks exactly like the OEM part. Looks like a quality part.Fit my vehicle without any issues.Fixed my issue which was the speedometer was reading lower than actual vehicle speed. The speed offset was Not a constant. The faster the vehicle speed the further off the indicated speed.Very satisfied with this purchase

Had issues where my speedometer wouldn't work from at least once a day to once a week. When the speedometer didn't work my truck wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. It's been almost 2 months since replacing this sensor and I haven't had a single issue.

It may be unfair to condemn this product, because it was a correct replacement part. It was delivered promptly and competitively priced. Plus I have purchased many Dorman products I have been satisfied with their original equipment quality. But this one was simply defective.Perhaps it was my own fault for not suspecting its integrity first, before troubleshooting the entire electrical and mechanical system.A description states "This part has undergone a rigorous inspection to ensure high quality". And with the notorious electronic problems of Chevy Silverado recalls, prompted me to look elsewhere.I did first check the electrical response output on the sensor. There was zero ACma current. A fault for no output could also be a defective reluctor ring. Restrictive debris, misalignment or loose ring, causing an excessive clearance, being unable to pick up a reading. After pulling the transfer case and inspecting the ring and clearance, I then questioned the New Speed Sensor. The speedometer functioned properly after installing a new locally purchased Speed Sensor. So, I reinstalled this unit and.... it still didn't work.Since the time had laps before I realized the defect, and with the non reply of the manufactures warranty stipulations, I found it more appetizing just to eat this one, and avoid future indulgence.I should have questioned this unit when I took it out of its package. Although the Box appeared clean and new looking (no greasy finger prints), the plastic bag the unit was in caught my eye as being very used. When looking closer at the inserted end, I noticed mars and scuff marks. But the housing was clean and I did buy it as a new quality inspected product.More than likely, this unit will work very well for you. And maybe it was just a returned item the company suspected was still sellable? I'm sure the company or even Amazon would have faithfully returned and compensated me if requested, but only within a feasible time.Just my human error not to question the error of another human. So this review is for a Word of Caution and courtesy. Quality Control is not 100%. Be aware of what you serve customers, you may end up eating it yourself.
