Fit great in my 2001 GMC Sierra 4x4, install was pretty straight forward. Also it comes with new bolts to replace the original rivets that must be ground out (unless they've been replaced previously). Once ground out an air hammer and a propane torch help in removal of the old rivets. A jack is a necessary to raise the torsion bar and slip the old mount out and new one in.

Easy to install after you remove existing mounting rivets. Iâve read a lot on how others remove the old mounting rivets. I used a dremel with a REINFORCED cut off wheel to get the bulk of the rivet off, then a grinder and finally punched it out with a pneumatic punch. 20 minutes each side tops to remove the four rivets. The dremel cut them like butta! Use glasses. Drivers side I had a brake line manifold in the way. I removed the two (of three) manifold mounting bracket bolts towards the rear and was able to wiggle the new mount in. No reason to remove the torsion bars. Just take your time and donât force anything. I jacked the front up and put in Jack stands under the axle then I simply jacked the torsion bar crossmember up with a floor Jack and did the work. Was like a two hour job for both brackets. The auto shop up the road wanted $800 for this repair.

This part was easy to locate on the Amazon website. The price was almost 50% cheaper than my local parts store quoted me for the exact same brand name and part number. It was an exact replacement for the original part on my vehicle,,,and bolted right in place with no struggles at all. Great part from Dorman,,,,Excellent service and price from Amazon. I would recommend this Dorman part and Amazon to everyone!!!!!!

I wasn't too sure about purchasing this, but glad I did. Very well made and it even came painted. The hardest part of the removal and installation was removing the rivets and sliding the crossmember down over the new bushing. If you do not come down over the new bushing just right, the crossmember will not fit over the portion where the bolt goes through. It wasn't due to the center pipe being too big on the new bushing, the end of the crossmember had been pressed in due to over torqueing of the bolt when the truck was built. All I had to do is spread the end of the crossmember out a bit and slowly lower the crossmember over the center of the new bushing.Note: You are not required to remove the torsion bars to replace the bushings, just need a good floor jack to lift the crossmember up high enough to remove/install the bushing. Also, you will need some paint to repaint the frame after removing the rivets to prevent the frame from rusting. The entire process took about two hours and most of that was removing the rivets.

This mount appears to be as good or better than the original. Good quality hardened bolts with lock nuts. FYI there are several videos and DIY forums that say you must remove the torsion bar crossmember to allow room to replace these mounts. NOT SO! Not on my 2005 Sierra, anyway. Here's the low down. I jacked up the front end of the truck (I jacked from the frame but I'm sure the work can accomplished with drive-on ramps and no jacking). Remove the large mounting bolt that goes through the crossmember (The nut is welded in place so only need a socket wrench on the bolt head).then grind off the four mounting rivets (Note: My rivets were so rusted in the holes that heating to cherry red was needed to punch them out). If you are doing the driver side loosen the fuel lines along the inside of the frame. Now lift the end of the crossmember with a bottle jack. Trust me, it will go high enough to slip the old mount past the loosened fuel lines and under the end of the crossmember. Just slip the new mount in and lower the bottle jack to align the hole for the big mounting bolt. A word of advise...your new mount is probably going to be a bit wider than the old one so grind about a 16th of an inch off the tube in the center of your new mount. When you tighten the big bolt it will snug it up tight.

The product came as described. The only problem I had is the bushing the metal bolt tube in the bushing is slightly too long. I had to trim both mounts in order for them to slide into the opening of the cross member of my 2000 Silverado 1500
