Due to space constraints, I needed to replace one of these with the exact style that had been on my vehicle for about 10 years. This worked as planned. Other reviews stated that theirs broke while installing. Due to the fact that it is a hollow bolt, you can't put that much stress on it, make sure the hole that you are installing it in is already threaded... if it isn't you will likely break this while installing it. To pre-thread the hole in aluminum or thin steel, just pick up a regular bolt with the same thread size and pitch and use it to thread the hole before installing this.

I broke the first one - ever so slightly overtightened the 5/16 (not supplied) clamping and I mean EVER. Ordered a second one, and it ended up being metric. Not a big deal, but a 5/16 nut no longer fit, so had to locate a metric nut. Odd, because it was the same Dorman part number. Once installed it worked exactly as I'd expected.

This was half the cost of the one recommend for my 92 Dakota so it lacked the "key left in the ignition" buzzer contact. Smaller threads than the original, i used a nut on the back side of the door jamb to hold it in place. Works great, old door switch left me in the dark :-)

This matches the E brake sensor on my 1978 International Scout II Terra. You need to be careful with this. Do not over tighten or attempt to make use of a lock washer. As the core is hollow, the nut may break apart from the threaded shaft. I did this and had to order a replacement. Not the fault of the part, just too much force on my side.

Was exactly what I needed. However, as soon as I began to snug the first one down it snapped off. I thought that was odd and figured maybe I had a bad one. Second one snapped as well and did not use the 3rd. I was not putting much force on the wrench. It's only a 7/16 socket. The only thing I can figure is that the sheet metal I was screwing it into was rather thick at 3/16 aluminum (ambulance body) but still a very weak product. It was not easy to remove the broken half. I put the old ones back in.
