Edit: The quick disconnect failed after only a few months of use. Obviously very poorly made. Might work for an emergency repair but I would not rely on this product. My experience, quick disconnect lines are hard to disconnect and fail. I really like this because it allows me to limit the replacement to the quick disconnect fitting only, saving the cost of a custom, expensive line. I can keep one of these in my truck with some transmission line and a few hose clamps. Then if a line fails I can replace it. When they fail you are stuck because the quick disconnect fitting can (always has for me) spew a lot of transmission fluid fast. No hope of driving anywhere further than a block or two.

These fittings are used on Dodge pickups to connect the transmission cooling lines to the radiator.I rebuilt mi radiator,so they had to disconnect the original ones to remove it.I bought these 2 replacement fittings, because this is a VERY IMPORTANT connection.Well one of them failed while I was towing my RV trailer.I lost all the transmission fluid, and, the truck stalled.Cost $275 towing,$60 for ATF to try the trans.,But it is FRIED!! I'm expecting $4-5000 For new trans ,installed.. This $9.25 JUNK fitting is costing me about $6000

This transmission line quick connector for Chrysler vehicles worked perfectly for a transmission cooler line repair on my 2003 Ram 3500 with Cummins 5.9 liter. I used this fitting to couple a 1/2" ID transmission cooler hose with the factory anti-drainback valve (also known as the check valve). I simply slipped the cooler hose onto the barbed end of the Dorman fitting and secured it with 2 narrow worm drive style hose clamps to insure a leak free connection. I then snapped the new fitting back on my check valve and reinstalled it onto the flared steel feed line from the transmission. This connector allows the home mechanic to fix quick disconnect lines without need to use a hydraulically crimped ferrule.
