Fit perfect although the spring piece is separate from the regulator so you have to fit it in which isn't a big deal but the broken regulator spring had tension on it so it was a bit confusing as I couldn't get tension on the new spring. I ended up just fitting the spring in place and installed the regulator and it works fine.

Ordered this part to repair the front passenger window of my trusty 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This part is, in fact, a direct drop-in replacement. If you've examined the door where the unit mounts, you already know it's a tricky area to work in. Getting to it is half the battle. Pay attention to how the old unit came out and work in reverse of that. My only "issue" was one of the guide wheels had jumped the track, so to speak. But it was easy enough to flatten the wheel stop, re-insert the wheel, and reform the stop. If it wasn't for this little assembly error, I would have given the review 5 stars. You also have to mount the original motor with the new mechanism and spring, but it's not rocket science. Just work carefully and it will all go back into place as it should. The window now opens and closes smoothly and just as quietly as before. I'm sure if I ever have to do the other side it will be that much easier. This was my first time ever repairing a power window - and this was the right part! I love it when it works out!

I bought this and the gear/cog assembly piece was spot welded on backwards causing the window to stop just before it was closed. I need another one... lets see if I can find recpt. I have the widow jury rigged closed and taped now. What a hassle this has been.

I purchased this for the front passenger side door on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The package arrived quickly and in good condition. Upon installation I discovered that the top track that the glass mounts too was not assembled correctly. The two guide wheels were NOT in the proper track guides. Thankfully the track guides were crimped/folded on the ends and did not contain the dimple stops the OEM part did. I was able to un-crimp the ends with a flat head screwdriver and hammer to insert the wheels in their proper location. Once inserted I simply re-crimped the ends to keep the wheels in the track. Once I mounted the coil spring (included) and motor onto the regulator I placed the regulator in the door and found that only 3 of the mounting bolt holes were threaded. All three threaded holes were located on the section where the motor mounts. Not sure the part was made that way intentionally or not? I was able to thread the other holes with the existing mounting bolts. Other than the above mentioned items the part fit great and works properly.
