Don't buy, it seems to be defective!! After spending so much time replacing it, I found out it did not work at all.

Had evap faults and installing this did the trick. Fault code P0440, for anyone who is having that issue. P0440 isnt a leak, it's a malfunction. If you have a leak, your scanner will display P0442 or P0456 along with the P0440. The problem was on a 2011 bmw x5 e70 and if anyone else owns a BMW with P0440, its either your purge valve or your DTML, which is your leak detection pump. Always good policy to replace both when dealing with this problem. They are codependent on each other.

I have a 2014 bmw x1 and this product fit perfectly. It took me about an hour to install but someone more experienced or stronger could probably do it in 20mins. I cleared the code and it never came back on. Great price 👍

This fixed my problem if you are having a small leak detections. Sometimes it’s an electrical malfunction & it’s not actually leaking/Bmws are notorious for this. Change this & you should set.

I've done a fair amount of auto repair work over the years, and have usually been satisfied with Dorman replacement parts. However, this is an exception. At around 130,000 miles, my VW Jetta with the 2.5L engine started throwing the P2402 code for the Evaporative Emissions Leak Detection Pump, so I replaced it with the Dorman part. The Dorman part looks nearly identical to the OEM part, and installed easily. The code reoccurred within 20 miles. The car still ran well enough, but not quite 100%. I assumed that the part was not the problem and researched other possibilities for a several thousand miles. Ultimately, the Dorman part did not solve my problem. I replaced the Evaporative Emissions Leak Detection Pump with the factory part (at over 3x the cost), and the code has not happened since.

After my 2012 BMW X3 check engine light came on, I took the car to a mechanic. After that visit, along with several calls to other shops and dealerships in my area, I received quotes from $450-$800. After checking a couple online forums and checking out YouTube videos, I decided to perform the work myself. Order the part from amazon and pick up a diagnosis tool from the local auto parts store and got the job done in just under $100. I spent around 2 hours on the web and YouTube researching and was able to complete the actual part replacement in about 35 minutes. Once the part was on, I reset the check engine lite and it stayed off. The hardest part of the whole process was removing the rear passenger tire, as this part is located under the wheel well shield on my year and model.

So the part was easy to install. It got rid of the code BUT it also activated 4 new codes... I erased them but they still came back after turning it back on.
