Dislike the fact that the product is a white metal with the oil rubbed bronze finish.I worry that, with use, the white metal will start to show through a the plate gets scratched.For now it looks great

Flimsy product arrived a little bent in an inadequate box. Installed according to instructions which say install with screws included before removing protective film. Of the 24 screws needed they sent 13. I bought the rest at a local hardware store. Then I remove the film to find that the aged bronze color on the two door kickplate did not match. A big disappointment. A waste of time and a waste of money. Amazon pushes these Don Jo kick plates really hard. They are crap.

The color is not black, but it is very very dark brown which could look black in some lighting. I tried to show it in the pic. They are shipped with a protective plastic covering which I pulled back only partially in the pic as I was not ready to remove it and install just yet. As others have said, be sure to watch for the screws. They are in the taped end of the brown wrapper (the piece in the 2nd pic that I cut off of the end of the packaging). There is a sticker that tries to tell you "scr pk. underflap" but that's not a very clear warning of where the screws are lol. Having said that, mine did have a couple of extra screws which was good because I actually cut through the plastic that the screws were in when I was cutting the brown wrapping, and I therefore almost lost some screws. I purchased two of these and I didn't like that the Amazon box they shipped in had no packing material, because these could have slid around in the box and been damaged; but luckily that didn't happen for me. I think these are a decent thickness. I purchased the same brand and color but different size for my front door several years ago, and it has held up pretty well. It's not an exact match to my front door handle color, but that hasn't been significant.

I’m using this kick plate so my dogs don’t scratch the door when they let us know when they are ready to come in the house. They continuously are scratching the newly painted door so I’m hoping this will do the trick. Time will tell how this holds up. I’m worried the finish will scratch through.

Great product especially for the price. Will be interested to see how it wears as time goes on. Screws are included but I could see how one would easily throw them out with the packaging. If I hadn't have read other reviews I would've tossed them myself by accident. They are at the very end of the paper packaging and tape. Folded in and tiny so they are hard to feel and impossible to see. This however is not an issue if you know where to hunt and does not effect my rating on overall product

Everything I was looking for. We have 6 kids and it is holding up great to all their abuse. I have had it on my door now for a month or so. I am very satisfied with the look, size, and finish. I would buy again.
