I used this as a fuel pump access door on my old Jeep. It works great! It's tougher than plastic and I never have to pull my gas tank again

The cover was simple to install, I measured the opening, added a 1/8 inch, put the measurements on the wall next to a stud, and cut out with my multi tool which cuts clean and accurate. I added plywood strips to the backside of the sheetrock to strengthen. It feels sturdy and should hold up for years. I feel that I made the right choice over the plastic inserts. I would buy another one if I need another access point for plumbing.

I am working on finishing my basement.The dry-wall / Sheet-rock has not been installed yet as i'm finishing up the plumbing and electrical work.There are multiple places that will require access to. Things like gas valves, water valves, etc.................If you put sheetrock over those, and need to access them later, it will be an issue.I order this panel in the 12" size for one of the places in the wall i will need access to. It is very simply made but of good sheet metal quality and sturdy. Easy to install and solves for a need. I liked it so much i ordered another one in the 8" version. Besides places behind sheetrock that I will need access to, i thought it would be a good idea to use some of the excess space in the framing for secret little compartments or places to store things in. I will use several of these in different places to simply have access to some extra space behind the wall i can put things in. Nothing too big, but still useful.This is a good, reasonably priced product that comes in different sized to accomodate your needs and solves for a need/issue. Highly recommend this wall hole cover.
