This was a gift for a kindergartener. He loved it and all of the bigger kids wanted to play with it too. Remote controlled with lights & sounds.

Not 5 as the speakers is internal an can’t put scotch tape on it to reduce the sound it emit that can be annoying after some time.

I purchased this as a gift for a 10-year-old. He opened it in front of me and was so excited. He read the features and could not wait to get it home to play with it. That is all I can say at this point.

I ordered this item for my son for Christmas. It lasted only one day: December 25.On December 26, the tires would not work nor move, as if something was blocking them, whereas my son handled it very carefully. Absolutely disappointing, and a total waste of money.I put a star in the review but in fact, this product shouldn't get any.

Broke within the first hour of use. The gears to the rear wheels keep coming off. I took it apart several times to fix. Cheap garabage

I got this bus to have on hand when my nephew comes to visit. He is a kid who loves everything about cars, trucks, and buses. However, I am finding myself enjoying this little bus even when he is not visiting. The little yellow bus, while smaller than expected, is so cute and brings back fond memories of riding the bus to school in my childhood. The remote is easy to use, and the battery life of the toy is fantastic. I have yet to replace them. This bus is great fun for young and old[er] alike.

My son on the spectrum loves RC toys but prefers ones that aren't race cars so we are always on the hunt. This bus is fun although he might get a kick out of it a bit too much when it crashes. It's typical quality, not the best but not bad. I love the rechargeable batteries!

Review: Update: Increased to two stars; I figured out that the bus refuses to drive and steer unless the "driving" sound is currently active, at which time it operates just fine. That's unintuitive and unfortunate, but the bus does function so one star is no longer appropriate. The bus still begs to be "hacked" so it can be used without that obnoxious noise.Prior review: One star. Period. I hope the manufacturer doesn't need to sell many of these to feed their kids, because this is a hard flop. We ordered one, figuring the tinies could give it the acid test. The tinies never got a chance to see it; we charged the lithium battery (goes in the bus) overnight, then installed it.Side note: what sort of product engineer would close a battery cover on a toy... with a screw... into plastic? We also installed (our own, fresh, because they weren't supplied) AA cells in the remote control. Good batteries.Side note: what sort of product engineer would close a battery cover on a toy's remote control... with a screw... into plastic?Ahem. We then switched on the bus and tried everything out. We were impressed that the red / blue lights inside the bus flashed gratuitously when we turned on the power. Good start, right? We pressed the "sound" button and were regaled by ... sounds that... well, really nobody would associate with a school bus, exactly... except there was a horn sound. Roary noises, but they didn't sound like a bus. That was the left button. The right button was supposed to turn the sound on and off... but oddly, it just triggered the horn sound. The middle button, which was supposed to turn on some sort of demo... did nothing at all. Zilch, zero, nothing. The bus just stood there, its lights flashing, waiting. The left joystick, front / rear... also did nothing at all. No motion from the bus, even lying on its back with its wee widdle wheels wagging in the air. There was no motor sound, there was no hint of motion, The wheels turned freely, as if not connected to any motors or gearboxes inside the bus.Hmmmm, sez me. Not any great sign. The right joystick also did nothing at all. It was supposed to be for left / right steering. The steering apparatus at the front of the bus didn't wiggle. Didn't feel like it was connected to anything internally, even.So... dang. That bus was clearly defective, and badly so. So... we returned it for replacement. The replacement arrived today. We went through the whole initialization process (screws, batteries) with this one, same's last 'un... except that we never even set this one on its feet; we just let its wee widdle wheels wag in the air right from the start....and it steered.ForOne.Second.Flat.Then it stopped steering. The driving wheels never jerked, never twitched, certainly never spun. Oh, the lights (red and blue? in a school bus?) flashed gratuitously and the growly horny noises did their thing. The demo button, exactly like on the first bus, did exactly nothing and the joysticks just wiggled. One star. Because it's yellow and has four wheels and it can be pushed around on the floor as a "dumb" (non-electronic, inactive) toy. It's not worth doing to recharge that little lithium battery just to flash red / blue (???) lights and generate growly noises. Oh, and the AA cells, too. No, not just for that. The lights and noises just aren't impressive enough to warrant all that. Not even to the tinies. One of these days when I have exactly nothing else to do and I'm fork-in-eye bored, I'll tear it apart and figure out why it doesn't do anything but flash lights and growl... and maybe hook up an Arduino with a transceiver pair to it to control it for real. Not today.

This is regarding the Dollox 1/30 RC School Bus;This bus is very cool for pre K kids like mine. Realistic diesel engine noise with a remote start! I am so happy my 20 month old granddaughter who is obsessed with busses got to watched me drive the bus yesterday she loved it. She kept saying more bus more bus. A FANTASTIC bargain considering the level of detail put into this toy. I was blown away by how well it was made and how well it worked. Driving the bus around is only the beginning because the lights and the wonderful sound effects add another 2 levels of fun with this. For example, when the bus moves for the first time after turning on, the engine doesn't just make a running sound; you can here it start up and then run just like a diesel engine does. Backing up gets a "beep beep" just like a school bus. The USB recharge is a wonderful thing, though you need 2 AAA batteries for remote.Overall I am super happy with this product, the kids love it. I definitely recommend it!
