Shock mode stopped working after a week of having the collar. My dog won't respond to the vibrate or the sound. Now the collar is useless.

We had picked up a second rescue pup as a companion to our first, who we've had for 3 years now. Number 1, Phoebe, is such a sweet dog and well behaved, since I did the smallest amount of training with her.Number 2, Bruce, well he was a handful. He hated me (I believe he had issues with men from his first male experience in life), and would growl and bark at me, and back himself into a corner to get away. That's not good and I thought this collar would be a good 'helping hand' with him. So as bad as it sounds, a week after trying, my wife decided to return him to the rescue place as she didn't think I'd be able to win him over. I think she was right...wait, I'm married, what am I thinking, yes she was right...and he did find a good new home.The collar does not fit Phoebe, who is 20lbs. So I haven't been able to test it, but I would be heart broken if I did test it on her, as she's so sweet and does not deserve this kind of behaviour modification technique. But Brucey boy, he was gonna get the sharp end of the stick.

I tested on people before my dog. Two are in the hospital and one suffered a stroke. No, just kidding. This product works well and is of good quality.

The item arrived yesterday, and the first few hours it worked great. I tested all the options. Level 1 of the shock is a little harsh on my dog so I knew I’d only use it for the TERRIBLE habits. After charging the collar and remote, the shock option no longer worked. I’ve tried pairing it again and still no use.

One of our dogs is a "problem child" and requires extra support to make it through the day. As she ages, the problem intensifies (rather than mellowing as we had hoped). The situation is extremely difficult and other families would have given up on her. We believe that a dog is a lifelong commitment so we will do what it takes to make our lives bearable with her without causing her unnecessary suffering.We've tried a shock collar before, but it was difficult to use and not really worth it. The shock feature freaked us out a bit (we barely used it and when we did it was scary). When this upgraded collar popped into my feed, I decided to give it another try.Right out of the box, it is clear this is a much better collar than we had before. The charger and remote charged up very quickly (a handy dual charger is included). I fitted it to my dog and did have to fuss with the collar a bit, but it's easy enough to do. The collar is big enough for virtually any dog. Our dog has a very large neck, but there was so much slack that we will have to cut the excess off in order to secure it without flopping around.The collar has three settings, sound/beep, vibrate, and shock. Each of the settings is adjustable using the remote.Here's the good news, our dog IMMEDIATELY responded to the beep with positive behavior. Sitting, paying attention, etc. This means we won't need to escalate much beyond the beep. If she doesn't respond to the beep, we will simply hit vibrate and that will get her attention.We will likely not utilize the shock function much, if at all. There is an included tester panel so you can test if the shock is working without placing it on your pet. I also love that the shock can be adjusted easily with the remote (so there is less risk of delivering an unwanted shock or one that is too strong).I suggest if you do use this product, you start slow with the beeps and vibrations. It's basically a miracle for us.
