This is a nice upgrade for a kennel. the mat as good padding and the cover comes right off making it easy to wash. it's also somewhat water resistant. water will seep but it does so pretty slowly, giving you time to clean it up.

I bought this mattress cover to be put inside a crate that a King Charles puppy sleeps in. When you open the package, you get the mattress cover that is a soft material and a simple piece of fairly thick egg crate. You then put the egg crate inside the cover to create your bed. The bed itself seems comfortable for my puppy. My real concern is that I am not sure this cover would be liquid proof so using this dog bed in a crate where a dog might have an accident might happenand not just as a day bed. If my puppy or a dog has an accident while on the bed,, I am not convinced that the cover would prevent an accident from penetrating and getting into the egg crate. Once that happens the bed could be ruined. If your dog is well toilet trained, it shouldn't be an issue either way, but if you are doing what I am doing, you can either put something that is waterproof inside the cover on the upside to just help guarantee that nothing contaminates the egg crate or buy something that seems more liquid proof.

My snoopy little girl really likes her new bed. Her first one was round with high sides and she was not comfortable but now she can lay on this one and see what is going on. It is made of quality material, it's soft and fits perfectly on the couch. The gray color is clean-looking and matches the couch. Well worth the money for her comfort.

This is an excellent pet bed. My pup loves it so much we bought a second to keep upstairs. It truly is waterproof and is so convenient to have the removable cover. The zipper goes around most of the pillow so it is easy to get off and on. It is well padded and keeps its shape. Great price too!

While this fits perfectly in my dog’s crate and is soft and supportive for my 35lb dog, it is not really waterproof. My dog had an accident in his crate due to an illness and medications he is taking. The urine soaked through the cover and the insert. I am now washing both, so I hope the insert survives the wash as I saw nothing about how to wash it or if it is washable, but I can’t just put a urine soaked insert inside a clean cover even once dried. That’s a recipe for disaster.
