This bubble was a great purchase. Our prior bubble he was still able to scratch his face (which is what I needed to prevent). This bubble not only is soft material with the ability to clean and the detachable cone is not only convenient to remove to give him to ability to be more comfortable. I knew when I had to leave the house, he would not have the ability to scratch his face. Value for the price. And it also looks cute with the design.

Worked great for our springer spaniel after getting fixed. It was secure, seemed comfortable, and durable. After the first couple days, he didn’t need the larger, plastic part of the cone, so we unzipped it and just kept the inflatable part on, which was great because it was also softer for our kids when the dog kept bumping into them. I never had to re-inflate the ring.

I have an english golden retriever, about 70lb. This worked amazingly well post surgery. I love the option of removing cone part. Also, the protected front part of the plastic does not scratch everything like the typical cone from the vet. I also liked how wide the cone was allowing my dog to drink normally and see around him. I think this helped him adjust to it quite quickly. Very easy to get on and off. We bought x-large; could have possibly gone with large but worked just fine. There is some ability to adjust the doughnut part and the collar loops helped keep in place.

We bought 2 other cones before finally settling on this one. The traditional plastic cone came off too easy, then we got one of these that was just the donut without the shield, and that didn't work because our Aussie could still reach all her legs and lick up to her knee. So even though she couldn't reach her knee incision, she was licking the bald spots from the IV and heart monitor closer to her feet.This one has been very successful. She wore this cone for a few weeks and it took a beating but held up. She was able to eat and drink just fine, and seemed to be fairly comfortable when sleeping on it. I attached a pic of what it looked like after using it for those 3 weeks. The plastic got some creases from her crashing into stuff, but it held up.Only complaint is that there is a small hole about 2" square where the ends connect, and darn if that dog didn't figure out how to lick her wounds through that small hole. Maybe if your dog's neck isn't quite as snug as ours was, you could tighten it more to close the gap. But for us it felt like it would have been too tight. So we did put a piece of clear packing tape over each side of the hole and that held up for the duration (see pic). We didn't spread it apart when we needed to remove it, we just unclipped her collar that was attached and that was enough to slide it on and off without undoing anything. You use your own dog's collar to attach to the cone to hold it on, so it's easier to have a second collar if you choose to take it off and go for a walk etc. Or you have to unthread the collar from the cone each time and then thread it back on again.I would definitely buy this one again, as I think the pro's outweigh the small cons.

My German shepherd had knee surgery and was to wear a cone. I wanted something more comfortable for her. I love that we can take the cone part of and just have her wear the doughnut during the time we can supervise her. The cone part is easy to put back on when we need to kennel her, it just zips back on. It is a softer plastic than the one we got from the vet and doesn't hurt our shins if she runs into us. Our shepherd is 75 lbs and we ordered the XL. It fits her well. There are loops on the inside the doughnut to thread a collar through so she can't get it off. We used a spare collar we had, so when we take off the doughnut, she is still wearing her regular collar. It has held it's air pretty well. It only lost a little in the 3 weeks we have had it. The outer cover of the doughnut is soft, removable and washable. My dog doesn't mind wearing it and looks pretty cute.

I really liked the fact that my dog could walk into my shins wearing this collar and didn’t hurt my legs. That alone made it great in my book. However that was just the start of the benefits.The second major benefit was that it was so comfortable to wear, even when laying down. Even the clear plastic portion was much softer than the rigid clear or opaque plastic of the regular Elizabethan collars provided by the vet or sold online or provided by the vet.What probably should have been the first benefit was that my dog found this comfortable to wear, even though he sometimes had trouble going through doors with it as he was used to being able to walk next to the door frame.It is very practical in that the clear plastic section zips off easily to be washed whilst the soft inflated ring remains a barrier to licking or chewing for the short time taken to clean it. That makes it easier to clean the edge of the soft inflatable which is also totally washable.It did not bother my dog at all and he didn’t try to rub it against things to get it offAnd finally, it comes apart and can be rolled back up for neat and simple storage if you save the package it comes in.The only two negatives I found was that my dog could still reach his wound with the plastic part detached, which is why I bought the second collar so I could just change out the plastic part to clean it while still protecting the wound. The second being his problem going through a 32” wide porch screen door wearing the size XL collar. This probably would not have been a problem with the smaller size.I had to have my dog euthanized before the second collar arrived, so I returned that one, the other I will be donating to the local shelter.
