We had a different bark collar that came with a remote. It was NOT as effective as this one. This one is SO EFFECTIVE (even on a lesser vibration than what is suggested) that all we have to do is MENTION âdo I need to put your collar on?â and my dog stops barking. The was THE BEST Amazon buy of the year (recommended by a friend).

I am a sucker for animals. We had three rescue dogs that would bark to let us know that someone was at the gate. Then last year, my husband and I (mostly me :)) rescued a red tick hound that had been severely abused. A month later, a co-worker asked me if I could foster a dog for her until she could get it to her son in California. Of course I did lol. Little did I know that the "foster" dog was pregnant....sooo last Septmeber the little momma had a litter of 4 beautiful red tick hound puppies. (Unfortunately one of the puppies died shortly after birth.) The ex co-worker never came back for the foster or the puppies so we expanded our fur family. The only downside to the little bundles of fur is the loud baying. It would happen anytime someone left the house. I'm pretty sure that our neighbors (we live in the country, but still close enough for neighbors to hear the dogs) did not appreciate the puppies making all that noise at 3:30 am when my husband left for work.I decided to purchase these collars but I didn't want to break their spirits nor did I want to deter the barking completely, because I still like to be alerted to visitors at my gate. I ordered these after reading reviews and received them in 2 days. We put them on the puppies and little momma as soon as we got them. They weren't overly excited about having collars on but eventually got used to them. No barking the first night. When my husband was getting ready for work the next morning, he put the collars on them. We had them set on alarm and vibrate, but we decided against the shock setting. As he was leaving, momma tried to bark but the alarm sounded and she stopped dead in her tracks. Then one of the pups tried to bark, but again the alarm went off and the little one got a little vibration on her neck.I took the collars off a few hours later, and the dogs were quiet for most of the day.I would recommend these to anyone who has a dog that are as noisy as mine!!!

I have 2 long haired Dachshunds. Their names are Doc Holiday & Wyatt Earp. I love them with everything in my heart but I couldnât stand the barking for another minute. Doc has been amazing with his barking and has never been an issue till the last 4 1/2 months. Wyatt has always been a stubborn barker from day 1. We have tried spray collars, over 9 different shock/vibrate collars. We have tried praying, offering our first grandchild to anyone that could help stop Wyatt from barking. He could stand for hours on end and just non stop bark at absolutely NOTHING. His bark is high pitched and just grates on your ever lasting last nerve. We want to be good neighbors and do not want them to have to listen to our dogs bark. Like I said before Doc used to be ok with just a vibrate and that stopped his barr egg king till he noticed squirrels in ou trees in our back yard. They tease him non stop. So he barks every time they move. I saw these collars and was excited to try them. They are a little big for my dogs but they only wear about 3 hours in the day. I love how easy the screen is to read. When the information isnât on the screen there are white lines on the sides of the screen to let you know the collars are on. A cool thing too are the collars are different patterns which is super important because our dogs are twins. Right down to their toenails. So having the different patterns really helps telling them apart. Setting up the collars were very easy to do. The instructions have some really great tips to help get the best performance out of the collars. Docs collar I have set on the level 2 with no shock. The sound and vibrate is ok for him. Wyatt is completely different. I started him on level 2 with just the sound and vibration and then level 3 and then 4 and so on and so on. I went through all the levels till I finally turned on level 2 with sound, vibrate and shock. Doc stopped barking right away. I had to use the longer posts on both their collars because they have longer hair. I am not a huge fan of the little knobs on the end of the rubber posts. I feel that would be just too uncomfortable for them. So I changed the post to the shorter ones. It still works great with the shorter rubber posts. It has cut the barking down by 99%. I want them to warn us if someone is at our gate. The collar does allow a couple barks before it gives a warning. I am ok with that. I am not a big fan of shock collars. I think they need to be used sparingly and I take them off and give the boys chances before I just put the collar on them. Doc has already made it 2 days without barking without the collar on. I just show him the collar when he starts to bark and it stops him. Unfortunately Wyatt starts barking as soon as the collar comes off. All in all these are pretty nice collars for the price. If anything changes I will update my review.

CONS:1. Set off by other dogs immediately, but slower to be set off by the wearer. Absolutely not acceptable.2. Set off by my voice.3. Initially terrified my dogs (only used vibrate and sound settings).4. After a week my dogs were immune.5. The barking is now louder since they learned to raise their voices over the sound setting.I have three very large dogs, two of which are Great Danes so you can imagine the volume of their bark. Unless you're my neighbor down the street, then you know.I've changed the settings, which made no difference. I've made them tighter, I've made them looser, I've turned them upside down. I sandwiched one between my considerably fat thighs while adjusting the other on my dog who was barking and NOT setting off the one on her, but setting off the one that should have been soundproof!Of all the collars I have tried, these were by far the worst and not the cheapest.Pros:Easy to recharge, battery lasts for 7+ days of incessant barking, I mean constant use.If electric car batteries lasted this long, the oil industry would crash in a week. 1â for that

I've purchased a few sets because my girls manage to crack screens and destroy them. They seem to wear down fast but work well for the time being. The shock is not bad I used it on my own skin before I put it on my dogs. Charging works well, it's safe and looks nice. It's not heavy at all so it doesn't bother the dog
