I bought this wedge pillow a little over two years ago to relieve my lower back pain and swelling in my legs. At the time I was in nursing school and was sitting a lot for lecture and studying, and standing a lot during my clinical days. I now work as a bedside nurse, and while I move more in my role, there is still a lot of standing and sitting throughout my 12+ hour shifts. After I get home and shower, the first thing I do, is prop up my legs on the wedge for 15 minutes. It really helps. It has held its shape and support in the 2+ years I have had it and it is easy to remove the cover for washing (and easy to put it back, too).

I bought this to elevate my legs in bed after being on my feet working all day. The pillow is very supportive. Buyers should know that the wedge pillow is VERY firm. It is excellent for how I use it, but would not likely be comfortable to lay on or against.

This product was a life saver. Unlike bed pillows, the wedge doesn’t dent downward. It’s firm yet still comfortable. I was able to comfortably elevate my leg while resting and sleeping. The wedge is wide enough where you can move your leg around a bit as well, without it falling off the side.Update: after using this for 28 days now, the pillow wedge cover has begun to pile and breakdown. The pillow is still helping me tremendously, however, the cover is not great fabric

I have a lot of pain in my legs from having severe issues with my spine, back surgeries and nerves. I also have adhesive arachnoiditis which causes me to have intense muscle spasms. I'm also pretty much bedridden bcuz mobility makes things worse. I worry about blood clots so I decided to purchase this wedge to get my legs up above my heart. It also just makes my legs feel better after propping them up. I do want to say this thing is quite hard so I have to put a thin bed pillow long ways that goes up the side and on top of the wedge. It gets painful and my legs and feet go to sleep if I don't use the pillow but I'm ok with using it. Keep in mind that it might not be comfortable if you use a big bulky bed pillow. I've also had total hip replacement on my right side and am waiting to have the left done but I can get both legs up on the wedge easily and be comfortable. For myself the most comfortable position is to turn the wedge with the slope part away from me. It's easier on the knee's that way as well. It's way to hard to use under your upper body. I tried with 3 pillows on top and it was still to hard. For raising the legs up this is excellent and you cannot beat the price. And love that the cover can be removed and washed. Cover is well made and the foam is of good quality. There was absolutely no smell upon opening. I was able to use immediately.

I ordered the DMI ortho bed wedge before having foot and ankle surgery. I knew that I’d need to keep my foot propped up (toes to nose), and figured that a wedge pillow would be easier to manage than a pile of bed pillows. The pillow is covered with a removable zippered woven cover, that I assume is machine washable. The actual pillow is one piece of foam. I was surprised at how firm it was.I am currently five days post op, and using the wedge pillow during my waking hours. I have a splint on my foot and leg, covered with a thick layer of gauze, and covered with wide ace bandage. There are incisions in the top of my foot and on the outside of my ankle. I’ve found the wedge pillow to be helpful, but it’s too hard to use alone. I’ve found that I’m the most comfortable when I use a standard sized pillow lengthwise over the top of the wedge pillow. The need the extra cushioning because the hard foam of the wedge pillow causes the splint to press into my incisions. If I didn’t have the wedge, I’d have to use four or five bed pillows to get my foot propped up this high, so I’m happy with this purchase. If I were to improve the functionality of the wedge pillow, I’d replace the woven fabric of the cover with something thick and soft, like minky fabric (used for baby blankets) and add straps on each side to make it easier to carry as well as pull into place. I’d also add a 3”-4”layer of convoluted memory foam to the top side of the foam pillow to help cradle a wounded limb in comfort. If there were soft padding on this pillow, I wouldn’t need to use an extra bed pillow.

After reviewing opinions of different physiotherapists and doing my research i decided to try and change my sleeping position. I suffer from severe degeneration of discs in my lower back due to many years of working as a nurse and every morning I would wake up unable to just get up. My back was stiffed and extremely painful. I sleep with this wedge under my legs for over a week now. i hate it and i bless it. It is very hard to sleep on back when all my life i was sleeping on my side, however, I get up without that locking in my back sensation. It is wide enough to prevent legs from falling to the side and is actually quite comfortable when you put your legs on it.

I've suffered with a lower back and leg pain problem for 25 years now and have had a similar cushion for almost 20 of the years to help me sleep. I bought this with a little trepidation due to the price in case it wasn't as good as my old one, but I was worrying for nothing. It is the perfect height and length for me where my feet just dangle over the age (I'm only 5'2"). I use it every night and can't get to sleep without it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles with getting to sleep due to back issues.

I purchased this leg wedge for my Mum who has varicose ulcers and is advised to keep the legs in a raised position constantly. I tried to match the leg wedge which she was given to use during her hospitalisation and despite a great variety of similar products on the market, this product was the closest match. It is an excellent product - the dimensions permit use for both legs, the foam it is made of is firm to hold the legs in an elevated position, but soft enough not to cause discomfort. The design is identical to that of the wedge recommended by my Mum's doctors. The zip cover makes it incredibly practical to maintain a good level of hygiene.Given my Mum's condition the wedge will become a permanent fixture on her bed and only time will tell how durable it is.
