I was disappointed my DJI 3 pro controller wasn't compatible. This is no reflection on Amazon, just DJI.

I purchased this drone and have been having so much fun with it. I'm new to the drone environment and think this is the perfect drone for newbies. You can crash into anything and not worry on damaging the drone, and because it is small and light, it won't hurt anything that it bumps into. The guards that come with the drone does a great job.

DJI should make very clear that without the DJI remote control, the drone is nearly useless. You can control it with the app ... but the range is less than 200 feet! With the remote, the range is potentially miles.It is fine if they sell it without the remote, for people who already have a remote or other specific situations. But they should mostly sell it bundled with the remote, and include prominent language like "use the DJI remote for best experience."This is a $200 drone that becomes a ~$350 drone when you add the remote.It seems sleazy and deceptive, because they are trying to trick you, or trap you, into buying the drone, then realizing you can't use it without the remote, so you go ahead and also buy that. Vs if it was clear the whole time, they might have fewer initial sales, but they would not have grouchy reviews like this. DJI, your choice.

I have nothing but great things to say about the DJI Neo. My beef is with the pricing. DJI company fluctuates the price faster than a bad Vegas magician. The price is all over the place, whether at Amazon or Walmart, it's a constantly moving target. Right now there are two price points on Amazon. It's in my cart for $368 but on the purchase site it's $349. Head over to Walmart and yesterday it was at $268. I purchased mine before Christmas at $329. So, tomorrow or the next day the price could be higher or lower, but you're aiming at a fast moving target price wise. Also, the carry bag is cheaply made and the lock doesn't work so you can factor that out as a perk for buying the package deal. On the upside you do get a warrantee, two extra batteries, a charger, and a landing pad (?) which is a little puzzling since the Neo will return to your hand. I'll say again the Neo itself is a delight and a marvel.
