I was curious how much electricity certain items in my house were actually using, and this answered all of my questions and more, plus it didn’t cost a fortune like some other similar products. It is incredibly easy to use, just plug it into the wall, plug in the desired Electrical device, & Read the data it provides.

My old Kill-a-Watt power meter stopped working after many years. Went to look to replace but found that their price shot up considerably and so I looked for alternatives. This meter turned out to be a good replacement at a reasonable price. It has a nice, large LCD display that is well lit. This solves my biggest complaint I had with my old unlit Kill-a-watt. I appreciate this meter's neutral white backlight with black digits. Other meters are either unlit or default to white on blue or even worse, black on blue, which isn't the best for readability. The one downside is that the meter is not UL listed. Since I don't leave the meter plugged in for extended periods of time, I do not consider it to be too much of a drawback.

One of the issues with using multiple electric appliances is not knowing how much power they actually use. This allows me to try out an appliance through different modes, and then see the MAX power used, so I avoid tripping circuit breakers. The backlight is essential in making sure it's easy to read regardless of position.

Hard to see what the screen is displaying without looking directly at it. Works fine otherwise.

I've tried other watt meters but kept looking for one that makes it clear if the time on is showing min:sec or hours:minutes. This one can, and the backlight display is very readable. I thought I found the best power meter until I noticed it can not keep accurate time. The clock crystal is of the lowest quality. Sent one back, tried another. Same disturbing answer. Are all of diymore meters this bad? Plugged into an always on appliance, and check the time elapsed every 24 hours, and see results: #1. Gains 14 minutes per day, (says was on 24:14 in 24:00 hours), #2. Loses 11 minutes per day, #3. Loses 6 minutes per day. #4. Loses 3 minutes per day. Most people won't even notice losing a few minutes, but when it gains, it really hits you.

I have two "Kill A Watt" Meters and after a move I couldn't find either of them and I couldn't rationalize $30+ for my needs, so I looked a few up and to be honest I was a little vain and went for one that looked sleek and appeared to have all the features I'd want. This is the one I picked and I'm glad I did.And this little thing has a feature I never even thought of, it stores the data and the display turns on even if it's not plugged into power! You can see history/data on the go. This is honestly awesome and I didn't even know to look for it!Few items I have ever used have no "cons" but this one has none (so this is a hands down 5 stars!). The only possibility is "maybe" there is a better product out there for a better price and does EVERYTHING it does (and more?) and/or with a carrying case? But good luck finding it!Pros:• Price, Aesthetics, and Function!• Software and modes are great, very easy to use and intuitive• Amount of Options is a massive selling point• Display works without being plugged into power (huge plus!)• Overload protection and safety• Accuracy (confirmed)Cons:• None

This is a great little tool for testing household devices' power usage. You can even enter your location's cost per kWh to determine the expense of running a device for some time period. It has been interesting to see what various small appliances cost to run. It is fairly easy to use and the instructions are intelligible and clear enough to get started.
