Minor issues with the wood quality. Some damage on the body and where you bolt on the neck. A lot of fun to build. The solder job on it was terrible but at least all the wires were in the right spot so make sure you check before you put The pickups in. Def a blast to put together and finish.

Bought this kit for my Christmas present and I'm just now getting around to putting it together. While the parts look good, I'm less than enthusiastic about the accuracy of the parts size and placement.First, I'm at a stand still because of poor drilling of the mounting holes for the bridge. The drilling pattern used on this body must not be correct. Lining up the left holes of the bridge and body, the center hole is close but not quite there. The right body hole starts in the middle of the bridge hole. Line up the right holes and you have the same issue in reverse. Poor quality control.Next, trying to fit the neck so I can find out if any bridge hole is correct, the neck is too wide for the body slot. That means it was never test fit at the factory. Who knows if the 4 holes will line up. Do I widen the slot or thin the neck? Again, poor quality control. So now comes decision time. Do I figure out if the right or left bridge hole is correct and fill the other 2 and re-drill them? The body looks nice and I don't really want to chance a return and get a less attractive body. Plus I can't really return it now it's been too long. So, I answered my own question, I'm re-drilling.Just be prepared, you may have to make adjustments if you buy this kit, or, you may get lucky.

Received kit. Wiring Diagram is in black/white. Which plug goes into what connector?Connectors are red/black. Does Not Show where to make connections. They have a video-showing connections and where they go. Useless! Useless!! You Can't see him making connections!!Additionally I tried to remove the "plastic" nut and the top of the neck shattered. Company was contacted-new neck is an additional $40.00 but there is no place on Amazon to order the neck-So I ordered another neck from another company. The company sent me an additional diagram. I had to guess where the ground wire was and also where the ground wire goes. Diagrams sent showed two different ground wires-one with a connector, one without a connector. Extremely confusing!!! It will be several weeks before this is even strung up and tested to see if I plugged the connectors into the correct plug for each pickup. This was a great lesson in what not to purchase. Make sure the kit you purchase has updated diagrams and actually tells you/shows you where each plug goes. People who never have built a DIY kit and want a DIY guitar kit "REQUIRE" that you "SHOW" them which connector plugs into its respective connector: Red to red, Black=ground as well as being IN COLOR TOO!!! Shouldn't have to look at a wiring diagram and "Guess where and how the wires are connected! Great lesson in what not to purchase in a DIY guitar kit!!07/02/2024-String Spacers Missing! Pickups are wired but no sound. What started out with economy in mind now has turned into: travel to a luthier (1 hour), cost to fix is approaching $150.00.Have a mind to burn it, and ship the ashes back to this company!! As I stated-"What Not To Purchase in a DIY guitar Kit"!

Never intended on using the stock pickups, had SDs delivered same day along with a super switch a push pull 250k and a dual concentric 500k for PTB control. So cant comment on those.Easy build...the body and neck alone surprised me, worth well over the entire kit price.Only gripes would be no instructions (i didnt care but many would), and it wasnt clear that I'd have to drill my own string holes through the body (made me feel more accomplished, but a non-starter for some).

Nice kit, only issue I had was a bad ground on the volume pot that I had to re-solder.I swapped the capacitor for a smaller one, wanted more range on the tone knob.Nice looking maple neck so I went with a clear gloss finish. The wood on the body had very open grain so it took a lot of filler to smooth it out for painting.Made my own pick guard just to cover the hole in the wood for the neck pickup. Also drilled through to make it string through the body.

I bought this kit to build out a Steve Morse Frankencaster tribute guitar, just for funsies. I kept my expectations low given the price ($109 at the time of purchase). Couldn't sleep one morning, so I decided to just put it together as is & see how bad it was. Blown away! Five-piece ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard - everything went together quick & tight, and I was playing it within about 45 minutes. This is a perfectly GOOD guitar for the money! Luck of the draw, the neck came a lovely light/dark figured grain on the fretboard that's surprisingly pretty. Uncut headstock and unfinished body is crying out for customization. I can recommend this for someone wanting to try their first build, or wanting to try out their first customization, or wanting to practice different finishing techniques. Or do what another friend of mine does and "tattoo" the top with a dremel for a striking one of a kind look. Or build your own Steve Morse Frankencaster tribute.

So far so good, after putting all the hardware on and testing it out, it’s not bad for 120$. Tuners seem alright, pickups are ok, no damage, fretboard/action is better than expected after initial set up. I will only have to touch up a few frets, because I am anal. I wanted a black pick guard and rosewood fretboard and this fit the bill. Only thing I have a complaint about is the edges of the body are a lot more beveled than my fender telecaster. i was thinking of trying to put binding on this guitar but it won’t work because all the edges too rounded off. Not that big of a deal
