The build took 5 weeks, I (57) worked or it with my Dad (81) twice a week for about two hours at a time. We did a J-bass kit in December from another, and this one was a lot easier. Reasons below. This is a low budget kit, you’re getting a light weight body, average pickups, import hardware. Don’t be expecting a bargain $600 kit. This gives you everything you need to build a functioning guitar minus the paint/stain.Sand, mask, sand, stain/paint, top coat. We went with a maple stain and satin topcoat.Electronics: Holy bajeezus, everything was pre-assembled with plugs for the pickups and input jack. This saved us 2 hour not having to solder everything together. After playing, the pickups are adequate. If you play this a lot, you’ll probably change pickups. for the guitar portion, I’d get a double lipstick for the neck (tapped) for that nice jingly sound but keep the hummer at the bridge. The bass pickups are fine unless you’re looking for a specific sound. The assembly: Holy bajeezus, all the holes are pre-drilled! The potential headaches that feature saved was worth a lot. It made the assembly very quick.I opted for a set of straplocks instead of the included strap buttons. Too much weight to rely on the strap staying on those things.Had we worked on this daily, we would have been done within 2 weeks. We let the top coats sit for a few days, but we would have been good a 1-2 days.ISSUES: We had two issues:1. The input jack was missing. Ran $11 on Amazon, the Seller offered to send us a new one, he gave us a small credit instead. No problems with how this was handled by the Seller.2. One of the bass tuners broke. When tightening the A string to tune it, an internal gear broke a tooth. This was a $20 fix via Amazon, it has not yet been reported to the Seller as it happened two days ago and we wanted to finish the build. The gear was not repairable but shows the lower quality on the tuners.SUMMARY: A pretty solid kit overall. Had the two issues, and if we had been more patient, the Seller would have sent us replacement parts. This is not a difficult kit because of the pre-wired harness and the pre-drilled holes. This company is worth looking into if you’ve toyed with building a guitar/bass.

Beautiful guitar. Nice quality. Only problem is the wiring. It went together pretty easy but now the guitar half is way louder than the bass half which makes it unusable until I have a professional re-wire it.

Good value if you like working on guitars. Overall all holes line up beautifully, you'll want to drill an extra hole in the bass neck pickup cavity to the switch hole, or you pinch and screw into the wires. Easy push to connect wiring, did need to reflow 1 solder joint on the 3 way switch. Recommend for people that have some skills or willing to learn and aquire a few tools. Very usable pickups and hardware.
