Used for fastening a harness and back-plate securely to a diver's body, one end of the strap is threaded onto the back-plate and the other end with a loop is placed on the waist belt harness webbing. Crotch straps include a 304-grade stainless-steel scooter ring for use with diver propulsion vehicles DPVs. The ring is also a convenient place to temporarily clip off an item to free your hands, such as a lobster snare or camera. The 1.5 3.8cm continuous webbing crotch strap measures 38 96.5cm in length has a 2,200 lbs. 100 kg tensile strength, weighs 3 oz. 85 g and is preferred by technical divers who use DPVs for extended periods of time. I added this to my auto-inflate life jacket...I'm older that if I fall out of the boat... I will need someone to grab my life jacket to haul me aboard... the crotch strap prevent me from sliding out of the life vest...

For a crotch strap to be useful, the upper loop has to be big enough to fit over a waistbelt buckle. This one's loop isn't. Returned. Thank you Amazon for that great service. Shame on you,Dive Rite, for putting out poor product.Check out Halcyon for a crotch strap that's designed to work.

Fast shipping with great product. Easy to remove and replace the old strap.

Fits my Dive Rite Transpac II perfectly. The loop of the strap slides over the metal buckle on the BCD so there was no need to remove the buckle (which is not easy to remove or reinstall). Also the clips to adjust the length of the belt are metal vs plastic like on the 1 inch crotch strap so they should last a lot longer and be more durable. Only took a few minutes to remove the old one (which I cut of the remaining pieces) and replace it with this one. BCD back to normal now. Looking forward to next dive trip.

It's amazing how one little strap completely changes the comfort of your gear. My BC no longer rides up and allows my head to hit the tank. This is the simplest, best addition to my gear.

It took a little customizing to fit it to our BC, but it accomplished the goal of keeping the BC in the correct position while diving.
