I got this cable to replace another one that had been blinking on me. I thought at the very least, since this was the cheapest option I could find to hook my monitor up to my computer, it wouldn't be a huge loss if it didn't work.It worked perfectly and was easy to set up. I haven't had a problem with the product, and my picture quality is perfect. It's sturdy and a great value for the money!

This cable worked just fine.Thank goodness for this cable to allow me to not have to go out and purchase a new monitorwhen I already have several good ones but they don't have Display Port. What I don't like is DisplayPort. It is an overly complicated protocol. And I don't like the name. It's a generic term used as a specific term. Causes confusion.DVI is a display port but it is not Display Port. VGA is a display port but it is not Display Port.Confused yet? I think I'll get the name of my road changed to Street. And I'll name my first born male, My Son.We could start a company called A Plumber.Ever try searching the internet for companies that use generic terms as their names? The company name is buried in the noise. I have enough trouble with a computer companythat chose to name itself after a fruit. Fortunately they are big enough to override thesearch engine hits on McIntosh. Unless it's a McIntosh I am actually looking for andthen all I can find is cell phones. The Display Port protocol allows for daisy chaining monitors from just one output of the computer. But I have not once witnessed where that has actually been implemented. And the protocol is very complicated because you have to convert from parallel data to a massive packetized serial stream.Which means you could have sync delay problems. You can convert VGA to DVI fairly easily. And DVI to HDMI is actually not even a conversion because it is essentially the same thingwith just a different connector. But it takes a massive processor to convert DVI to Display Port. So this cable must have anice big ASIC to do the job. It does it well. And it's amazing that the price is so good.Congratulations to Comtop for offering a nice solution to a mess the computer industry has created.

I've been using this for a good while now for my center monitor on my desktop setup (currently using an NVidia GTX 670 graphics card and three 1080p monitors) and this cable has been performing admirably. It also has a hefty build quality with very thick insulation around the cable. No complaints, but one warning. The brick at the DVI end of the cable is HUGE and ill-suited for some monitors. Double check that you have a couple inches of clearance coming out of your DVI connection before purchasing. It doesn't work on some of my monitors for this reason.

A very well made, sturdy cable that does all it's supposed to do. I bought the 6 ft cable. My monitor has just VGA and DVI. My better monitor has DVI and HDMI which I wasn't aware of. I could have hooked one to the GPU's DVI outlet, but when I discovered HDMI, I used HDMI on the better monitor and this DisplayPort to DVI cable for the second monitor. When I hooked it up, there was nothing being displayed. I went through all the settings and wondered what kind of crap I bought. Uhm, be sure you push the DisplayPort end all the way into the card. Stupid me...

I have a Dell Toughbook that one of my users snapped the VGA port in which left me with only a Display Port for connecting the Toughbook to monitor. The monitor we use only has VGA and DVI capabilities. I previously bought a but the Toughbook has all its ports protected by dust-cover doors and the male display port end of the Cable Matters cord was extremely fat. I gambled on this one thinking it looked like it did not have as much unnecessary plastic. That gamble paid off! It works perfect and easily slides into the small dust cover door.
