Tried another air cover but returned to get this one with the wider lip at the bottom. Fit perfectly!

Air gaps are annoying on the kitchen counter, but this cover has a nice, modern finish that blends in well with the brushed stainless of the appliances. It was inexpensive, works, and is fairly attractive.

When I moved into my house last year, I found that the old, soap-stained chrome cap on my dishwasher's air gap not only didn't match the brushed stainless faucet and other kitchen fixtures, but it was also too short to cover the plastic rim. Irritated me for months before I finally got around to replacing it. Relieved that this one has a nice brushed finish, is tall enough to mask the white plastic, and is made from real metal (it appears some of the cheaper ones are plastic). Can't speak to its longevity but the quality seems good enough! I'm pleased.

Wanted to give my sink a new look and this helped it look nicer!

I like that this cover had the little skirt at the bottom. That made it a little more roomy than the straight one I tried first. Even so, this one still would only fit about 2/3 of the way down over my current plastic screw-on, air gap cap. My plastic cap has six little ridges around it. I thought about forcing this metal cover the rest of the way down with a rubber hammer, but one reviewer mentioned that he did that and the cover was stuck on tight. I realized that if it was stuck, I wouldn't really be able to remove it to access the plastic cap underneath and clear any clogs. Another reviewer mentioned he shaved a little bit off of the six plastic ridges on his air gap cap. I decided to try filing them down a little, using fairly fine sandpaper. I was patient, doing a little at a time and seeing if that helped, until this metal cover slid down with a nice secure fit. It can still be removed without a lot of effort and it looks nice! Thank you to all of you for your reviews!

Pretty straightforward product, and it ended up being exactly what I wanted for a very reasonable price.Simple problem: I upgraded the faucet on my sink, which made the cheesy dishwasher air gap cover stand out. It was one of the cheap chromed plastic ones with a “UPC” shield logo on it, which didn’t match the brushed-nickel hardware and also the way it fit you can see the bottom of the white plastic vent sticking out at the bottom. This thing looked like the perfect replacement: brushed silver finish, smaller holes (so the plastic vent inside isn’t as visible), it’s actually made out of metal, and it’s got a wider bit at the bottom to cover up the part where the plastic vent is wider, and it’s cheap.Only two questions: Would it actually fit, and is it as nice in reality as it looks in the photos?Answers: Perfectly, and yes. It popped right on to the vent in place of the old cover, fits snugly but not over tightly, covers up the plastic completely, and does indeed look exactly like the photos, which is to say quite nice.Rarely have I been this pleased with a random off-brand purchase. If you have a UPC-brand vent cover and want an upgrade, this is it, and will fit perfectly.

My mistake for not reading the full description. This is just the cap. It is a nice quality cap, but for close to the same price you can get the full part.
