DPH42 Installation Requirements:
Power insertion from the DPH42 Power Inserter connected to port 1 of the switch
RG-6 cable rated between 950–3000 MHz
Weather caps—not terminators—for sealing off all unused ports on the switch. Weather caps have a flat top and are pre-installed on the switch.
A Solo Hub or Duo Hub for all Hopper receivers; a Solo Node or Duo Node is not compatible.

If you have a rv and want to use a dish hopper you need a wineguard dish and a problem dish42 switch. It works great

Works with Winegard SK-1000 dish, does what Dish and Winegard say you can't do.. i.e. you CAN use the Hopper3 and Joey's EXACTLY as at home!

Just the ticket for adapting an older DishProPlus LNBF set for use with a Hopper 3 / Joey system.

I purchased the DPH 42 with power inserter to convert a stock winegard trav'ler's Dish western arc satellite's DPP based LNB (low noise block) to DPH (dish pro hybrid) based Dish Hopper 3 receiver. The actual DPH42 switch or converter block can be mounted right near to the Trav'ler with just a single coax cable feed from the power inserter, because the DPH42 converter is weather/outdoor approved. However, I just ran the necessary 3 coax cables from the Trav'ler to the DPH42 switch block, and mounted the DPH42 switch, and power inserter inside the basement section of our 5th wheel RV. Reason being is that the DPH42 should, and needs to be well grounded or bonded, and I just could not find a decent enough place on the RV roof to ground it. IMPORTANT: Be sure to connect the power inserter's output as labeled "To Switch Input 1port" to the DPH42 switch's "Receiver Satellite In 1 port", and then connect the power inserter's input as labeled"To Receiver Satellite In" to your solo hub or directly to the Hopper 3. Recommended: There is a PDF that can be downloaded of the internet that is instructions for the install - do a search for DPH42 installation. Also, the DPH42 runs hot to the touch - so be sure to mount where there is adequate ventilation, and not too near other components. This is an excellent solution for the stock Winegard Trav'ler as a source antenna systems for a whole home (RV) Dish Hopper 3 system.
