I used this to replace SL5S4NR4-01 (swm) bad LNB. This worked but with a small alignment issue. I used Digital Satellite Finder Meter, SF-95DR, 950 to 2150MHz ATT Buzzer Function Satellite Meter with , Strength Meter and power inserter in amazon to check basic alignment settings. (it has no problem working at 21Vdc .) The azimuth was off at least 20 degrees. The meter just beeps and shows constant signal when you get close. ( it dose not know that signals are just there is some.) The HR54-500 genie was used with this LNB and older versions SL5-swm. You turn off power inserter when you're close and remove satellite tester and hook up HR54-500 receiver and power things up. Tune final setting with Directv TV signal meters. (ours in mounted to our back deck and was easy to setup with small TV). Note that the HR54-500 will automatically change from SL5-SWB LNB to newer SLS-SWM settings.

Excellent lnb for SWM Slimline dishes. (Single wire multiswitch). It's a great upgrade from the old SL3 or SL5 lnb. This is one of the newest SWM versions on the market...and work well for a wide variety of Directv HD receivers.

First of all, the LNB I received wasn't this earlier model shown - it's the slightly narrower one with horizontal indentations running across it you see in some other listings, but that makes no difference from a connectivity standpoint. I believe what's shown in the listing is an ...R2 model, whereas the one received is an ...R5 (meaning "5th revision of the model, from my research). Installation could not be simpler - no tools required - and just by swapping out my old ...R2, I immediately picked up about 10% signal strength on my 99 satellite, so that's great. With luck it will also fix the dropouts I'd get in freezing weather which also seemed to be an issue with some of the earlier models... we'll see.

I purchased this lnb, and the h25-700 receiver and a power inserter, I keep getting the message "cannot detect lnb". Is the swm lnb that I purchased bad?

Was able to remove my 5 LNB 4 Wire from my Slimline dish, and add this right to it. Use one of my four coaxes, fed a splitter, insert the power--in SWMness. I was surprised at how nice this worked for me and how cheap this was. Is much smaller footprint than the 5 LNB. Make sure you check that your locals or your non-traditional programming isn't on one of the two sats this won't pick up. Since I'm in the #1 & #5 markets my locals were covered. No loss of alignment, color me happy. Keep in mind that this will only be 8 tuners, and each DVR can count as two.

Ignore the other reviews. Sat4us must have had a noobie working shipping or have changed this listing since those reviews were written. You DO NOT get the 21v power injector or the splitter as mentioned in the reviews. If you need those things, you mind as well just get the whole combo with the dish. It will only end up costing you $15 more than buying the LNB, power injector, and splitter separately (as I ended up doing). The LNB arrived quickly and in one piece. I am docking a star for the LNB arriving scratched as hell and for no mention of the inaccuracies in the reviews. Being that it went happily on my roof, it fits in my dish, and I can barely see it from the ground, I guess I don't care that much. The review thing still irks me though. When the recent reviews say something, you tend to take it as fact.Few other things to consider:You can not use a SWM setup with older receivers. You either need to upgrade the receivers or mount a second dish (I had one lying around and went this route for now). This is a SWM 3. No matter what anyone says, this is DIFFERENT from the SWM 5. If you do not want to lose some music channels and (if you subscribe to them) Spanish Channels, you need to get a SWM 5 lnb. This LNB requires a 21volt power inserter! (It uses power 24/7. It is a waste of electricity when my old LNB was powered by the receivers. I will not be using any whole house features making it just another vampire device in my house.)The power inserter can be used without the switch on a single tv setup. If used with the switch, make sure it is connected to the red port.If you are just doing a direct LNB swap (old style 5LNB to this one), you will not need to realign your dish, but it's a good idea to check it's alignment. They do move a bit over the years. For the run from the dish to the house, use tri or quad shield coax cable.Make sure you add a drip loop to the coax line before you enter the house (google it)GROUND THE SPLITTER! There is a ground screw there for a reason. You just may end up saving your equipment. Try to locate the splitter close to your houses main ground and get a proper bonding clamp. Grounding to water pipes is not the best thing to do.Keep the above in mind and you will probably get many years of service out of your updated install.
