It works about as well as expected. I can confirm as others have said the orange covers are a pain to get off, and felt like they would break easily, but it's not like they are designed to be continously removed and put back on so I guess it is better that they are snug and won't fall off. The rest of the unit feels high quality.

I was looking for some small LED lights in 120 VAC. The lights I found simply were not what I wanted. However, I can find several that would work for me in 12 VDC.So I decided to give this a try and it works perfectly. I have some small 12 VDC lights connected to this. It really opens doors for what can be used if you are not able to find what you need in AC voltage. I would say that the internals of this unit are basically a 120 VAC to 12 VDC converter and PWM (pulse width modulator) combined in one unit. I could be wrong, but that would make sense as to how it operates.I mounted some small 12 VDC lights inside of a large overhead fixture. The fixture still operates as it did originally. But, I use those small lights as a night-lite. It took quite a bit of modification to the fixture, but it works wonderfully. This just looks much better than those receptacle module night-lights all around the house. Plus, they don't take up the plug-in if you need them for lamps, appliances, etc throughout your home.These are a bit large, you will need to be sure you have room before you order. They will not fit inside of a ceiling box. But if the fixture itself has some space, it may work.In some cases (such as mine) I had extra wire inside the ceiling box. So I was able to use them to power this separately from the overhead fixture itself. I have total control over the original fixture and this device as well.If it will physically fit, this can really expand your options as to what you can use.

This 12v LED power supply is a bit bulkier than the others I've been using, but it's not THAT much bigger.These drivers help with LED strip light installations, such as FCOB or other rolls of LED lights.In our case, they help create a more polished and built-in look for our cabinet lights.Just be sure your lights call for 12V or 24v and order the compatible driver (this one is 12v, as needed for our warm-white strip lights).Overall no complaints!A++

I'm using this for an array of LED strips on a large built-in bookshelf and so far the transformer has worked as expected with no issues with flickering or noise.My only complaint is it can be difficult to get the orange covers off. The instructions say "tool required" and their videos show someone using a screwdriver to just jam it in and pry. This method does work, but you risk messing up the little teeth built into the cover/base. After studying the assembly it seems like a better method is to use a small rod (I used a small 3/32 Allen wrench) to push up through the holes in the bottom that directly push up on the ratcheting channels that hold the orange covers in place. The covers pop right off with no damage using this method.The benefit of those ratcheting features allows you to use the cover to push down and secure the wires providing some strain relief, so it's actually a pretty cool design, once you figure out how to get it open.Overall I'm pretty happy with this transformer. It's been in service for a few months and I've had no issues.
