When I got this counter out of the box, I was pleased with it. It was easy to install for my application and it worked well. Three months later it stopped counting. The display shows that the signal from the magnetic sensor is coming all right, but the number of counts does not change - it shows 0000.I turned the counter off and left it for a day. Next day I tried it again and to my great surprise it began to work again. I would rate it with five stars, but decrease it to four because of this unexplainable hiccup.I am an electronics engineer with over 50 years of experience and that is why I handle any electronic device with the utmost care.Anyway, I am glad that it works again and I can keep it

Works as expected. Every time the magnet passed the pickup device it counts up another digit. I’m going to use it on my pedestal sump pump so I can tell how many times in a day it had been activated. Haven’t installed it yet but should be an easy install. I did test the unit out and it worked great.

Built a system to monitor water well cycles. Used a PLC and wrote a small program to gather information and send it to counters. These counters worked great. Do not need the sensor or magnet. This device will work from a dry contact closure on the count which is an output from the PLC. Used them to show cycles and time. Now I can see just how many cycles my well goes thru in a given period and also just how long the well is cycling and pumping water. Already knowing how many gallons per minute my system pumps, I can convert the information from the counters and know how many gallons I'm pumping per cycle and how many cycles I have run. Using these counters allows me to just walk by my control area in the garage and look at the counters and see the information. I'm extremely happy with these units.

Added this counter to my Lee Pro 4000 progressive press to count finished rounds as they fall in to the bin. Had it all setup and installed on the press in less than 10 minutes.Instead of using the supplied magnet I used a cabinet door magnet so I could screw it to a piece of 2x4 to get the right height.Pros:Cheap - good bang for the buckSo easy to setupIt works perfectlyEven comes with an AA battery installedEasy to use power on/off and reset buttonsCons:Wires are extremely small gauge and would not stand up to movement where they screw to the counter connectors. I have mine secured with an electrical tie so they never move. Problem solved. This works perfectly. Would recommend this for sure.Really I cant see any real reason that this isn't just an awesome answer to my How do I get a cheap and reliable finished bullet counting question.

Great value. Small, simple. I have been using it outside on a public dog park chain link fence gate for for a month so far to count visitors. It has held up just fine, and works well. The bag & crappy duct tape I used is for weather protection, and the install is only for a month or two. It come with AA battery of questionable quality/longevity, so I replaced it with a new one before using. I can't vouch for the accuracy as I only check it once a week, but the readings are as expected, so it seems close, if not spot on.

First, this device works as advertised. There are connection instuctions in English (simple). Battery replacement is easy although lasts a very long time. The sensor is more sensitive than they say, maybe 1/2 - 3/4 inch and that is with their little button magnet. The stronger the magnet the greater the distance. A great deal since the hall sensor or the counter is worth the price alone. The provided sensor doesn't have to be used. Any switch, of any sort, will work. It is also very nice that they include that small bracket that holds the sensor and the sensor has a long threaded neck, with two nuts, that allow adjust the distance from the magnet after installation. They don't mention but to reset the counter, you can used an attached switch or just press the pause button a couple of times. See the attached picture for my application where I count the revolutions of the rear tire of my lawn tractor (I just snapped the button magnet on the tire rim (two magnets would give two counts per revolution). It bounces around quite a bit but that doesn't phase the sensor. They provide a bracket for mounting the counter or you can use a another magnet. Just remember that this is not a high speed counter, maybe 10-20 counts per second or 600-1200 rpm and depends to some extent on the strength of magnet and sensing distance. In addition, it only counts up since the sensor can't tell whether the magnet is coming or going.
