Got this to install in a classic car where the actual speedometer sometimes doesn't work. This unit works great and seems to be accurate. Connects quickly to GPS satellite. Runs flawlessly off a standard cigar-lighter USB adapter (that's the 12V power port for those of you too young to know that cars used to have lighters and ashtrays lol). Definitely does not look factory, or even pro grade aftermarket. The visual appearance of the display reminds me of the digital dash in a Honda Civic, while the rainbow coloration of the numbers evokes the alarm clock in my child's bedroom. Automatic dimming at night works like it's supposed to. Either there's no way to toggle mph/kph or I'm too stupid to figure it out. No problem for me since it's in mph and that's what I want. No way to power down the unit so I need to physically unplug it each time. I didn't use the included double sided tape but instead went with Gorilla double sided "super glue" tape and it seems to be holding.Great quick and easy upgrade for an older car that needs a working speedo.

This speedometer works great. The speedometer on my car went out and this makes a good replacement. It is easy to plug in, easy to place and bright enough to see during the day with the sun shining on it. I tested it with Waze and they were pretty much spot on. I wish it had a dimmer because it is very bright at night. I also wish you could make it only one color to change it up a bit. I would recommend it.

I purchased this GPS speedometer because my regular speedometer is difficult to see when I have my steering wheel tilted plus car speedometers are often not as precise as GPS. I live in an area where if it's 25 you better be going 25. I've heard of people getting tickets for going 28 in a 25 mph zone. I just put my car on cruise control when it hits 25 that's the minimum speed at which it will activate. I have been using my old Garmin GPS You can see in the pictures there. It's very accurate and I've seen radar speedometer signs near where I live and it's usually spot on with what the radar sign says my speed is. Now looking at this new GPS speedometer it was consistently one mile per hour higher than my Garmin GPS. It also had a propensity for bouncing back and forth I'll say for instance 25 to 26 to 25 and on and on. My Garmin GPS is more stable at keeping one speed on the display. The display dims when it's darker in the car which is nice but the display has silly colors. I wish it was just plain white. Then lastly it comes with two form adhesive pads which are pretty chintzy. I'm going to use some alien tape on the bottom but it's very cold here now so nothing is really good to put on the bottom to stick it to the dashboard until it gets a little warmer. You can also see in my picture of the bottom where the double faced foam adhesive pads goes that the supplied USB-C plug doesn't seem to insert very deep which makes it look like it's going to break off or pull out easily. It's not the actual plug on the cord it's just that it doesn't insert deeply into the female port on the back of the speedometer. With all said, I rated the speedometer three stars.Oh, and reading another review mistakenly calling this a "heads up" display device. This is NOT a heads up display. Look at my pictures. Deceptive to call it "head up". The description for the listing says HEADS UP. A true "Heads Up" device would project the digital speed display onto a special film on the windshield. I had a car with that type of "heads up" display around 1980 and I think there are now many aftermarket heads up display devices for sale now. This is NOT heads up.

A friend has an older car with a speedometer that is best, how shall I put it, iffy as to accuracy.Fortunately, she does have a USB port to power this HUD (heads up unit) and that should keep her from getting tickets for speeding. From what I’ve experienced, this does take about 10 or so seconds to find a signal but once locked on it’ll stay active, unless you spend too much time in a tunnel or under a bridge in which case the signal will be lost. The readout has a sensor that makes the readout bright in daylight and lighter at night and that’s not an issue, but the plastic construction is. Wonder how long that housing will last in the summer heat down south. Guess we’ll find out soon enough since summer is starting in a month or two here.As for attaching this to the dash, you get two dinky stickers for the bottom and that’s supposed to hold this. It really doesn’t, so I substituted a sticky dash mat usually used for cell phones. It does just as well.My only gripe is that this comes with a USB-C connection and not all cars, like the one I am dealing with, have that. So, I had to go and scrounge around for a USB-C to USB connector. And the reason I dinged a star is for poor customer service. I sent an email to the seller asking if this came with a USB to USB-C adapter and they never responded. Not a peep within the week between ordering and receiving this.As for pricing, it’s about middle of the road; however, I can remember these being well over $100 when the technology was new a few years back, so I can’t really kick about that. If you can get the 20% coupon that was available when I got this, the price becomes downright reasonable.
