Doesn't hold zero. Piece of crap. Every time, now that the return window has closed 4 days ago, when it turns on, have to reset zero. Sometimes it's at 4", 6" or even 9". Not sure how the 9 happens considering it's a 6" travel.Troubles were intermittent at first, then seemed to settle down, now, it's worse than ever.I have several Mitutoyo dig. calipers, however I have a cheapy for everyday use.The cheapy 12 dollar 6" digital caliper that this one replaced was bought on the bay in 2015, it's been a faithful servant till this winter. I was hoping for a repeat performance with this one, apparently not. Very Disappointed. Waste of money.Edit: I am changing my review to 4 stars as a result of what transpired. Unipec reached out to me as a result of my poor review. At that point it occurred to me that maybe, just maybe the battery was crap. I replaced the battery yesterday, it made a world of difference.Never did I expect that a new digital caliper would come with a lousy battery.Time will tell if this one lasts as long as the last cheapy 6" digital caliper did.

Really working good when I use it. And really convenient when I measure the stuff.

I recently purchased the digital caliper measuring tool, and I am thoroughly impressed! The build quality is sturdy yet lightweight, making it easy to handle and precise. The digital readout is incredibly clear and easy to read, with a large LCD screen that displays measurements in both metric and imperial units. The tool slides smoothly, and the measurements are consistently accurate, even for fine details. I also appreciate the auto-off feature that saves battery life. It’s perfect for a variety of applications, whether you’re working on DIY projects, crafting, or professional tasks. Highly recommend this tool for anyone who needs precise measurements on the go!

update 2025-01-21Everything below remains accurate, but after substantial cleaning to remove the grit, and plenty of use, these are starting to feel less bad. True, they are only fair, but in my workshop, where I don't want to risk my Mitutoyo's, these are proving to be okay and are used nearly every day. They ARE accurate. Still 3 stars, but now perform closer to 3.5-4 stars after the surfaces were first carefully cleaned and then smoothed a bit as a result of lots of use. These calipers are... adequate.Straight away accuracy for most digital calipers is fine today. Any of them will read within 0.001 in of another with very good repeatability. If you need greater precision than that, a caliper is the wrong tool. You should be using a micrometer if you need that level of precision and accuracy. There are much less expensive calipers on the market that feel better than these. At the current 50% off price, putting these at the sub $15 price point, it's a decent deal. That is provided that you don't mind the gritty feel when rolling the thumb wheel or sliding the body down the encoder bar. It feels pretty terrible.A closer look reveals that the manufacturer did not lap the surfaces but merely ground them. Further, they did not bother to clean the grit or oils from the edges of the surfaces. With some time and effort, and if you feel comfortable disassembling them, you can get a fair feeling caliper. But only fair. HF calipers feel better, surprisingly. Under no circumstances will these ever feel as smooth as Mitutoyo Digimatic calipers. But at a fraction of the price, if you use them as intended, they will probably serve you fine.I spent about 10 or 15 minutes cleaning the surfaces, and that helped quite a bit. If you think that harping on the grittiness or lack of smooth sliding motion is over the top, understand that it's the smoothness that allows you to hit a dimension accurately.A side note, which I've never noticed on the cheapest digital calipers I own, and I own many, is the depth rod is roughly 30% thinner than all of my other calipers. This seems like a really funny place to try to save money given most of the work is in the finishing operations, which is why these can be sold so inexpensively. In summary, they're worth the price and accurate enough for occasional use, if they are on sale for less than 15 as they are right now. There are plenty of options in the sub $30 range to choose from. One of the weaknesses of many of these inexpensive digital calipers can be battery life, as well as the battery door just falling off. On the plus side there is a small screw that secures the battery door from falling off.As far as battery life, that's going to be difficult to project. Some inexpensive calipers will last for a year or two on a battery, and others will kill a battery in 3 months. Unusually, this caliper has the largest battery I've come across in a caliper, a CR2032, rather than the more common 376 or MR44 style battery. A 2032 is 20 mm in diameter, and 3.2 mm thick. That's a whopper of a battery for a digital caliper. Let's hope it lasts.Overall quality is two stars. Value brings it up to three stars. These will be the last calipers I reach for when an important measurement is needed. But, probably the first ones that I'll grab when I'm doing a dirty job where I don't want to risk my fancy ones.

I REALLY wanted to leave a picture but for some reason the button on Amazon to leave a photo isn’t working so I apologize cause I really wanted to show everything off! The packing was extremely nice, came with really nice instructions including what to do incase it stops working over time, a good case AND a thank you note! Believe it or not I actually ordered this caliper for permanent brows! I’m a microblading artist and for the past 7 years I’ve been using generic calipers, then I came across this digital one on Amazon and was SO excited. My brow mapping is going to be so much more accurate because of this. Thank you guys, really happy with the product and love the color by the way!
