This is a great standard radio alarm clock with battery backup. I have not used one of these in ages and ages, however it basically has all of the same functions as the ones they used to be on everyone's dresser. There is one additiona.l feature though; this one can actually operate while on battery only power. If I remember correctly the old school ones used to only maintain the time, I don't think they would actually still operate the alarm or the radio or anything with just battery. The other unique feature is the dimness knob which allows for full adjustment of the brightness of the LED display, which is actually fantastic because there was never an LED clock brightness that I thought was the right amount even if it had a high and low setting. I got this for my daughter though and she likes it. It was nice to give her a kind of retro clock that didn't look too ancient but yet she's still able to experience what it's like to have that old school clock radio.

What I like about this clock are the large red letters, so they wouldn't mess with melatonin at night. I have all my computers set my evening monitor to a warmer color. One of the light colors that doesn't mess with sleep is red, however blue does so I am glad it is not that. It has a battery compartment for three AA batteries that easily accessible to make sure it keeps time on power outage which is great. Allows you to set up multiple alarm times which is also cool. Great item overall. Not into using radio so to me that function doesn't matter as much however it does have antenna wire to get better reception.

All black, the clock has a somewhat small footprint for all the features that it contains. It doesn't take up much room at all. The large red numerals stand out against the background and are easy to see from anywhere in the room. Features I especially liked were the option to switch to one of three alarm types and being able to set different alarms depending on the day of the week. Another appreciated item is the brightness control. Also, you don't usually find radio station presets on small clock radios such as this so that is awesome. A nice unit.

This replaced an old Sony clock radio that kept losing the radio stations. This is a much-improved mousetrap. I like the option for the radio presets. With the external antenna, the reception is much better than my previous unit. Being able to adjust the brightness of the display is also a nice feature, as my spouse is pretty light sensitive in the bedroom. I probably won't use the alarm on this much, as I tend to use my phone for that, but having 2 alarms is a nice option.

I wanted this for the AM radio as most alarm clocks now have no radio or only FM. There are a couple of sports stations that are only on AM and I haven't found a good source for one of them. The alarm works well. You can set two alarms, should you need too. The clock is large enough to be visible from anywhere in my bedroom. It runs on AC but you can use three batteries to back up the system. I would have thought that a single battery would suffice for back up purposes as I wouldn't use this as a battery operated alarm. The clock is relatively small and fits almost anywhere. The sound quality, while not hifi is adequate for an alarm or listening to AM stations.

First off, the buttons on the top and switches on the back are very clearly labeled, so I didn't even need to read the instructions to get the gist of the basic features. This is by no means me telling you to forgo the instructions at all, however! You will need them to set up the alarm and add radio station presets, but even those features are easy to follow and set up once you run through those instructions once or twice.I have not used an alarm clock radio in ages, so I am not sure if a "wire" antenna is the new norm, but that is what this alarm uses. However, it does not impact the functionality negatively at all, so there should be no issues with set up.One thing to note is that the alarm volume starts off low once it rings/plays and gradually increases to the desired level that was chosen when setting up the alarm(s).Batteries are not at all required to use the alarm clock radio, as it runs on a cord. However, should a power outage occur, the use of batteries will allow the device to still function.

This "Box" AM/FM Radio is a decent option in listening to your local radio stations. It scans through the available stations with option to lock-in your favorites.I like the option of this product allowing one to run on battery or plugged in. Be aware though; when using battery only, the large clock display will not remain lit. You must push the power button gently to view the time. This obviously is to save your batteries (3 double A's) from draining. When plugged in, the display will remain on with option to dim to bright.I also like the various features like the alarm settings (different times and different days of the week), a headphone jack, clock display dimming wheel.....Regarding the speaker; enough volume but far from high fidelity. Has a tin sound....
