My 9 year old daughter wanted a locking diary to keep her brother out of it. This checked every box for her. It's beautiful and great quality. A big bonus for us was that it doesn't require a key. ( she has lost every one she has gotten)

Good size journal. The interior pages are regular paper thickness or weight. Pen glides nicely on the paper. Great design on the pen. Has a stylus tip. My little person (10yo) confiscated the entire set and is using the pen as a fidget. Hopefully it’ll inspiring some creative writing.
