We have gone through a few of the metal ones on here and they get bent and stop working pretty quickly. This one is a little more bulky but worth it. Much easier to use and the canaster is a great add on feature.

We have had one of these can crushers in our garage since we purchased our house 15 years ago, but I recently purchased one for my brother-in-law. I specifically searched to find the same one we had. It works great. I doesn't require much effort to crush a can, and the removable bin is a nice feature most other can crushers don't have. The only downside is the 12 once slim cans that are too tall to crush with it. I usually bend them in the middle, and then finish crushing in the crusher.

Buen producto, buena calidad. Lo regrese por que no tiene capacidad para lata de 12 oz y no de 16 oz que son las que más utilizo.

Originally, I bought just the can crusher and it has been outside on some property I have in the midwest 24/7 365 days for a couple of years. It still works like brand new. I wanted another one for my workshed and wanted the one with the bin. The crusher itself is excellent, best I ever used. The bin and design of catch the cans is stupendous. The only disappointing piece is the flag decal. It does not come already on the bin. It is rolled up in the bin for you to put on. Mine had some creases in it. Also, I very very very much am terrible at something like putting a large sticker on a round object and I did a terrible job. I expect in not to last at all - mostly because I am terrible at that,, but also because my sticker was stuck to the backing at a couple of points. Overall, the product is excellent, but wish the flag sticker was handled differently and better.

We have had other crushers and the arms or joints fail after a few months. This is built like a solid piece of equipment and the catcher can works great. It does not do tall cans, which is our only grumble.

I had another can crusher which fed cans in from the top. We liked it for a while until it broke a weld. I took it into a welding shop for repair and it served us well after that with no further problems. At the time we had a garbage can sitting directly under it to accept the falling cans. Now, at our new place, we don't have the space for a big garbage can so we bought the Dial Industries Easy Pull along with the collection bin (highly recommend). It is compact, works smoothly, and drops the cans into the bin every time. The bin is easy to empty into a plastic bag for recycling. I recommend this item as a good solution to making your cans compact for eventual transport to the recycling location. Now I just need to remember to lube the slides once a year to keep it working properly.

Due to the way the flag sticker is packaged (rolled up and loose in the box) it is pretty much guaranteed to be cracked when you unpack it. It needs to be inside the collection bin to protect it. The can crusher itself is great, but expect to throw away the sticker.I removed 1 star for the horrible sticker packaging.

i had this same crusher that i bought maybe 10 years ago from amazon (i think). anyway, i keep it in the garage by the back door and have been crushing cans flawlessly for all that time. then maybe a month ago the lever started to be a little difficult to push down and the cans were't being fully crushed. well, i noticed the little piece on the bottom where the can sits prior to crushing was tilted upward and upon further investigation that the rods that the crusher slides up and down on were bowed. well, i noticed that they were dry (i wasn't sure if they were supposed to be or not, it never crossed my mind to touch them before) so i bent them back out straight and sprayed them with silicone and it started working good, but not great again. so, then i noticed that they were still selling them on amazon and just figured that the thing had simply worn out. well, when my new one arrived, the first thing that i noticed was a sticker right in the middle where you place the can, that says to lubricate the rods once a year with petroleum jelly. the old on did not have this sticker, or not where it was easily seen anyway. if i'da seen that, i would have straightened them out and tried the vaseline, and possibly saved myself $50. oh well. as to whether or not the crusher is any good, well, you have to keep it inside or i assume you'll have to grease it up every time you use it but the instructions say not for outdoor use. as for the function itself, it crushes cans down to the size of a puck with relative ease. i love the fact that it has a built in container to catch the cans, and they do fall straight into the can without fail, or at least this has been my experience. so yes, it's a very good crusher, just remember to grease it with vaseline once a year and if kept indoors it may just last forever.

This is a wonderful product. Finding a place to mount it was the hardest part of mounting. Once mounted it operated very easily even without making a dent in the can. I had a 40 gallon trash bag full of uncrushed cans and it took me about 35-40 to crush all of the cans and reduce the volume to less than a 1/4 th of what it was. I had no problem with the cans slipping out of the crushing mechanism and it worked equally well for the smaller cans. Seems very sturdy and the attached collector bin attaches well to the crusher and is just the right size to keep the unit from sticking out to far from the wall where it would get in the way or get knocked off. It holds about 20-30 cans before it needs to be emptied. If you recycle aluminum cans this item is a must have.
