Have not had it long. So still tracking fuel mileage. But did does stop it from going to v4 mode. Wish it would take more delay out of the gas pedal though. But not disappointed. Very easy to use.

Does exactly as it says. Made my truck a full time V8 and is quick on the throttle with no hesitation like before. Although you'd think running V8 over the AFM you would use more gas but it seems that I'm getting an extra 2 mpg since installing this. Definitely with the buy.

I have a 2015 silverado with the 5.3 with AFM. My truck was shifting non-stop and my gas mileage was horrible. I was getting 13.5 in town 18.5 - 19 hey. It's easy to install. Just take it our of the box and plug it into the OBDI port under the dash. It can only go in one way. Start the engine and in a few seconds after the light on Diablo sprint quits flashing, your ready to go. No more V8 to V4 mode anymore. My gas mileage has increased to between 18/ 19In town. Highway 22 might. It's worth the money!

I have tried another product (plug in manual programmer), unsuccessfully. I plugged this Diablo S1000 into my '07 Chevy Z71, 96k mi., 5.3L flex fuel with remote start, 3 in. level kit, over-sized tires (285) on factory wheels. Have taken a couple 2hr quick road trips (70 mph+) in between 2 weeks of daily city use. So far this product has performed exactly as described, without any ugly side-effects. It does not let your truck go into the V4 mode, that's all I wanted.

Love this product. After spending nearly 2k trying to troubleshoot and repair a cylinder #6 misfire I decided to bite the bullet and see if this worked for my 2014 GMC Sierra. I have had it for several months and it hasn’t shifted to V4 once. I haven’t noticed a difference in fuel mileage either. Well worth the $ and it has significantly increased ease of shifting (and less noticeable shifting)This also got rid of the exhaust rattle when in V4 and as an added bonus it got rid of a frequent error code: p0137 (downstream O2 sensor low voltage)All in all 5 stars, I actually enjoy driving my truck again and I will consider a full afm delete in the future.

I want to rave about this product. My '08 Silverado with the 5.3L motor developed a misfire 18 months ago thanks to a collapsed active fuel management (AFM) valve lifter. I was very pissed off when I discovered it was because of the AFM system. The AFM cuts off oil flow to special lifters that collapse on command to keep the valves closed on cylinders that are shut off. I watched YouTube videos that claimed you could fix them by just removing the valve cover and tapping here or there - nothing worked. After getting a rough estimate of $2000 from my local shop, I spent $400 on the parts and spent a weekend pulling one head and swapping all the lifters on the side with the affected cylinder and also swapping the little screen under the oil pressure sensor (and swapped the sensor just in case while I was in there). This little $5 screen is what causes the valve lifter to fail and stay collapsed that shows up as a misfire code and engine light on the dash and of course your truck runs like crap on 7 cylinders. All the oil for the AFM lifters flows through this screen on the way to the AFM lifters. In higher mileage trucks, the screen gradually gets plugged up which causes low oil flow to the AFM lifters and without enough oil flow, the lifter eventually collapses as if it was in 4 cyl mode permanently. I searched the web and even checked with the dealer to see if they could disable the AFM and found nothing. There were no easy re-programming options nearby so I've been paranoid about keeping the oil changed to maintain oil pressure and hope that it didn't happen again on the other cylinder bank every time the truck went in to 4 cyl mode. Then I found the Diablo Sport S1000. I've had it installed for a few days. Works perfectly, the AFM doesn't activate, the truck stays in 8 cyl mode with consistent power response and no more fluctuating speed as it drops in and out of 4 cyl mode. As others have commented I noticed it also shifts more smoothly, not slamming into 2nd gear under full acceleration or hauling a load like it did before. I haven't noticed an issue with it draining the battery if I leave it plugged in but I've also not let my truck sit long enough yet either. So I highly recommend installing this product in your truck's OBD port. If you have a higher mileage 5.3L motor and your oil pressure tends to register lower than it did thousands of miles ago, especially coming off a highway cruise then you should also change the little filter screen under the oil pressure sensor (at the back of the engine, it is a pain to do). Chances are the oil pressure is fine throughout the motor but the screen is plugged up. The Diablo Sport S1000 will make your truck more responsive, easier to drive at a steady speed, shift more smoothly and likely save you thousands in repair costs for collapsed valve lifters caused when lifters stop responding to the AFM oil cutoff system. I haven't seen a difference in mileage myself but even if it costs you a bit more in fuel, it is still cheaper than valve lifters. And no, they haven't paid me to say any of this. I am just so glad I won't have to spend any more money or time under the hood replacing valve lifters and the truck drives better also.

Work perfectly ... I had a collapse lifter in cylinder #6 so I take the intake off and the velom and knock the lifter until the unblock ... and then I flush the ECM code and put this box in the OBD2 plug and I try it on the road and work perfectly .... good stay stay on v-8 all the time so the lifter that getting stock on v-4 doesn’t never gonna get stuck again and have a random misfire ... really good product

Love the Diablo module! Smoother idle, increased power, and better oil pressure! I installed it on my 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV. Super easy install! Plug and play! The perfect canned tune! My truck is a whole different animal when I run this. The best part is you simply unplug if you want to disable the device for long road trip mpg's. I'm hoping it will cancel, or delay the costly rebuild of a DOD delete in the future. Doesn't drain your battery while sitting. The led light turns off with the key. I left it plugged in for a week in winter temperatures, and it fired right up. A better option than the Range, because it is possible to update it. That option was worth the $19 cost difference. $208, I wish it was more affordable, like $100 lol. Probably cheaper than having it tuned at the Dealership though.

we installed this about a month ago. was a little iffy on price and the fact that most shops were saying we'd have to change cams or overhaul or something crazy price wise for a 11 yr old truck . haven't had a problem with it yet, the only thing is you have to fix the problem first this is just a stopper, like a plug it stops the stupid switching option but if its sticking between options like ours was you have to fix the problem first which makes sense . its meant to be a plug and that what it is . worth it !

Several friends recommended a AFM disabler for my 2007 LTZ Avalanche. I read a few reviews and decided to purchase this one. It plugs directly into the port under the steering wheel. No tools needed. I've had this device for a few days now. First thing I noticed was that my gas pedal was much more responsive to my foot on the throttle, no more hesitation. Can't speak much on the gas mileage, but I can say my truck sounds and drives much better than before. It does have a red light that shines while the truck is on, but goes away when the truck is off. The red light is pretty bright at night, if you don't like it use electrical tape. I'll update should something go haywire in the future. But until then, this has been a solid purchase and upgrade.

It works great. It is in my 2010 Silverado Crew Cab 1500 LT. I have gotten about 1 mile per gallon more, not anything big but I didn't lose gas mileage. The truck runs smoother and you immediately have power when giving it gas, no more hesitation. I leave it plugged in, it doesn't drain my battery, it turn s off when the ignition is off. It has a red light that flashes once you start the vehicle,it then turns steady red once connected.
