I was skeptical after seeing other reviews but this bunk bed was awesome! I bought it for visiting adult guests and it worked like a charm. I put it up myself so it took me over 2 days to put it up. I spent about 4 hours the first day and around the same amount of time the next day but I went very slow. The instructions were very clear and everything I needed was in the package. I saw some videos with shaker beds and I think it’s because they did not tighten the screws as instructed. Once I tightened the screws it was very sturdy. My guests were very comfortable. I even slept on the bottom bunk for a few weeks after they left then I took it down. Great product and price!

Awesome product. Value for money. Economical and space saving. Very much reliable. Only problem is that they should change their delivery partner " Delhivry". Non reliable and delay in delivery.

Great product. Sturdy. Only downfall is the bunch of pieces to put together. We love it.

Please be aware that I am giving this five stars because I have searched in stores and online without finding a bunk bed this inexpensive that has the weight capacity of this one. I have a teen and preteen, so a bed with a 100 lb. weight limit is out of the question. This bed has a 200 lb. top bunk weight limit, so that alone makes it five stars for the price. However, there are a few very minor issues, mostly with the paint job, that might irritate someone who expects perfection at even this rock bottom price. For me, they aren't enough to deduct points from the product. I did not expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I was fine with the tiny flaws. There are a couple of spots where the paint just didn't cover well, and they look almost rusty. It's not the full-on, metal weakening type, but just bare metal, untreated look. They are near the spots the bed joins, so once everything was together, you don't even see them. The slats apparently rubbed together during shipping, and the paint on them is scuffed; again, it's minor, and it looks as though it happened during shipping. The slats were the only thing not individually wrapped, so the rubbing isn't even visible. The bolts do extend from the bed; they aren't flush with the metal. However, they are rounded and coated, so I don't see this as a problem, either. They are intended to be that way. One thing that irritated me a little is that one of the slats is bent. That seemed odd, because it's the only one and they were together in the box, so it seems like it was that way before shipping. It's not enough to affect the sturdiness of the bed. I put that slat near the head of the bed, so little weight will be on it, just in case. Now for the good parts. This bed is very sturdy, very heavy, and it doesn't squeak or sway. While it is very tedious to assemble, it is simple and the instructions are great. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions say you need two people to assemble it, and that it takes two hours. I HIGHLY recommend that you get help with this, if you can. I couldn't, and I assembled it alone in about an hour, but it was a pain. One warning: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is completely assembled, and I cannot stress this too much. DO NOT TIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them, and had to take some out a bit, because I had tightened them too much, just with my hands.Update: I bought this in September 2015. In May 2018, it's still strong and sturdy, though squeaky. It has been a great value for me.

So I found very few reviews on here about adults/college kids using these. I am splitting an apartment room with someone to save rent money and needed a metal and cheap bunk bed. I never thought I would connect the word "cheap" and "bunk bed" together since any mistake made could end badly. I looked up the specs on this bunk bed and found that it more than supports our weight. I am on the bottom bunk- I weigh 190lbs and am 5'8". My roommate is 120lbs and is 5'6". The bed holds up very strong. I know it can support much more weight both on the top and bottom.Installation of this product was difficult. Alignment, tightening the screws, and TRYING to eliminate swaying were a huge headache. One of the mattress support bars was bent during shipping (there are over 30 of these small bars, so it didn't jeopardize the structural safety at all). And because of how its set up (full size mattress on bottom, twin on top), it shakes when my roommate tosses and turns. I am in no way afraid of the bed falling on me because of his weight and the obvious fact that if something is wrong, there are usually obvious warning signs. Nothing will ever just snap all at once and create a catastrophe. I would say though, that some people have anchored parts of the bunkbed to the side wall and/or ceiling to minimize as much "sway" as possible. I wish we could do this, but we cannot drill into the walls of our rental unit.A couple things to keep in mind.... Measure twice, assemble once. Read the instructions and don't do anything half-arsed. Also, if this is going to your college kid's apartment or you are a college kid yourself, don't invite your girlfriend/boyfriend to "spend the night." It will not be able to handle much stress and jostling. At least I wouldn't risk it. If this was a twin top/bottom or had a couple more supports, then I'd say don't worry about it. If this was made of thick wood and had a lot more bolts in it, I'd say go for it. But this product is strong as long as you use it to sleep on only.We also had some issues installing the guardrails as the screw alignments were off. But we managed to screw in 3/4 screws on each side so that it was somewhat safer. This price is a steal. ALSO! Make sure you buy the full mattress sold by Dorel Home Products as well. It fits perfectly on the bottom bunk and feels extremely comfortable (for a spring mattress).
