Our contractor didn't fill the crack/gap between a new deck and the siding of our house. Spiders and other insects were living there. This did a great job of filling the crack and it looks professional.

Looking for this product was not as easy to find as I suspect it should have been. Benjamin Franklin said “a stitch in time saves nine,” and this product will aid in stopping small cracks and gaps from growing larger. The demand for this type of product was larger than I realized once I started using it. I have fixed two more issues with this product than I originally intended. I would market it more broadly.

I’ve used backer rod a lot in the past when doing work for state weatherization programs. It was closed cell and open cell foam backer rod and it could hold some water. This backer rod is made from EPDM rubber and will not hold water. That’s especially important if you’re filling cracks in concrete because any water held in the backer rod will expand when it freezes and break up the concrete.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this is a high-quality backer rod that will provide an excellent fill material.
