First, I love the shoes and would recommend them. They are substantial shoes that feel so much better than the cheap bowling shoes I am replacing. The cheap ones felt like light house slippers or water shoes. The Dexters are sturdier, more comfortable shoes that will last a long time.As for sizing, I ordered 10.5. Unasked, the seller sent 9.5. I suppose that turned out to be a good thing because they fit perfectly. In 40 years of shoe buying 10.5 has always been my fit. These shoes definitely run large.

If you are competitive or just want to get the most out of your ability, these shoes are it. Being able to change slides and heels are a must for the serious player, as many factors play into the changing of the approaches due to humidity levels and temperatures. The fact that these shoes have been around for over 20 year's is a testament to their quality and performance. The only "CON" I see is that 20 year's ago they came with an assortment of slides and heels. Now you have to purchase the extra slides and heels (separately) and trim them yourself.Definitely not a deal breaker considering the long standing quality and performance of these shoes.Overall they are worth every penny in my opinion.

This is a good, well-made shoe for someone like me who is in their 2nd year of bowling (including league). They look good with the exception of a pretty bulky, squarish toe box. But other than that, I'm very happy with the comfort, versatility, value for the money and sturdiness. If there was a 4.5 option, I would have selected that. I will consider upgrading my rating once I've used the shoes a few more weeks.

I purchased these for my husband as a anniversary gift. He has bowled in leagues for 40+ years, and was quite surprised when Dexter did not provide extra interchangeable heels and soles for the sliding foot, as was done in the past, probably some 12-15 years ago. If you purchased via a bowling supply house or from a pro shop, the shoes came with 3-4 different heels and sliding foot soles so you could adjust, depending on the lane conditions. Now, bowlers have to purchase separately from the shoes, and that is more money spent. Regardless of this, he is breaking in the shoe very nicely, and had to purchase additonal heels/soles. Dexter has always been a good product.

I like these shoes, but the velcro doesn't quite hold on my slider shoe. Not a real big deal though. Other than that the shoes fit real nice and are real comfortable.

If you’re looking to step up from the $40-$60 range bowling shoes, these are a great option. Adjustable slides, adjustable heels, adjustable tread on your push foot....if desired. At least you have the option to change them out if you like/if needed. Buying a $20 slide replacement beats buying new shoes. I went with these because I had worn out the slide on my old shoes, and was using a slip-on slide cover, which is slick. So for me, the white s8 sole that comes with the shoe is too tacky and I catch on the approach. I went ahead and bought the s10 slide separately, after trying out the s8, as I’m used to a slick approach. The s12 slide is probably slicker even still, but from research the s12 is cut to fit...the s10 comes sized...so I’m hoping the s10 will work. Some reviews say extra slides should come with the set, but at $20 a pop it would increase your cost without much value if you couldn’t use the extra slides you’d be paying for. These are pretty customizable...so be prepared to have the option to customize the slide to your liking. The tread on the push foot seems totally fine oob. The overall fit seems fine to me, I bought size 10...mine are roomy I’ll say that, but not too big if that makes sense; others say they run big....probably some personal preference in there. They’re constructed well, right amount of lace length, and seem like they’ll be durable. The Velcro for the slides/heels/treads works really well, and I can’t foresee having any issues with it separating....they’re on there tight. I say spring for them. I don’t think you’ll regret it.Edit: after buying the s10 sole, it still was too tacky for my personal approach style, so I also bought the s12 option, which is the slickest approach option. Both the s10 and s12 soles are both cut-to-fit. That’s really what my edit is for...the info I read that caused me to mention that the s10 came sized already in my initial review, was wrong. Both of them must be cut to fit. Now having said that, it was super easy. Comes with instructions, take the slide sole off the shoe, lay it on the new one, trace with a pencil, cut with sharp scissors, done. I did both of them, absolutely zero issues. Don’t let that worry you as to whether it would be a pain or not. Surprisingly easy to do I felt.

After bowing for the last 15 years and going through traditional sliding shoes (left foot toe) every 3-4 years, it was time to upgrade to a shoe that had replaceable sole components. I was hesitant about this transition mainly because I had been comfortable with the brand that I had the past number of purchases, but we've all got let it go sometimes.I've now been using these shoes for the last 5 months and they are perfect. They get used once a week all year long and have been through 2 weekend tournaments bowling 10 games or more in the course for two days. I tend to have a high arch in my feet so it can be uncomfortable for long period of time traditionally, but with these shoes, it never even crossed my mind. By the end of a tournament weekend, I didn't even notice a problem.A few other member on my team have other model Dexter brand shoes and the toe and heal pads all swap easily, so I've been able to even pick up other sliding pads that were to slick for them.I've also purchased other pads and it's very easy to size and trim them to fit. Now that I can replace the toe without having to buy new shoes, my only hope is that the velcro style attachment on the toe can also hold up. The quality of the shoe is great, so I'm looking forward to using these for many years to come.
