No big deal to replace. It's a 1990 trailer so all the mounting nuts were seized. Heated all with an oxy/acetylene torch. I feel better about installing OEM parts instead of the unknown brand Chinese stuff.

When I was checking my wheel bearings I noticed grease had leaked onto the break shoes. I looked for replacement shoes and the cost was not much less than the complete assembly. It made sense to change all 4 on the trailer. Super easy to install and it’s much better than just changing the break shoes. I was repacking the wheel bearings and it only took an additional 1/2 hour each or less to pull the old ones off and install the news ones.

Fit fine. Installation went as expected. Took a few miles to seat/break in the pads. Working well.

I purchased the dexter brake sets for my 2015 Rockwood Travel Trailer model 2103. Unfortunately one of the brake assemblies arrived with the wires sheared off the backing plate. I was able to rewire ( solder new wires ) and move forward with the installation. We didnt have time to return the part due to a trip planned. It was a bit frustrating when I opened the box and found the broken wires. Over all the installation went well and everything is working as designed.

This was purchased as direct replacement for the 20 year old ones on one of my trailers. Sides are specific for RIGHT and LEFT sides and the wire placement for the brakes was similar but not identical to OEM originals on the trailer. Seems like an overall good brake package and this brand was good on the original purchase for 20 years of use. The self adjust brakes will adjust, but did not adjust quite as "fast" as it seemed to be implied in the instructions. After first trip, the brakes were seasoned in and working great!Quality product that I hope is as good as the previous version was originally.

My 16' cargo trailer has dual 3500 lb Dexter axles. It was built in 2002. I purchased the trailer used and have had it for about 15 years. It's a job site trailer so it stays on site for months and the use is minimal. So the rust set in.I replace all 4 assemblies as they were not working and they were the originals.I like the pre-loaded assembly-easy to bolt on. Was a chore to remove the originals. None of the nuts came off as the entire stud was spinning around in the assembly. After multiple cuts with the 4" cut off wheel, and pounding with a lump hammer and a drift, I managed to get the studs out. You'll need either an 18mm or an 11/16" box wrench. Not such a great design on Dexters part as the access one nut needed the box wrench. No way way to get a socket in there. Certainly no room for remaining nuts with my impact gun. Didn't matter, I had to cut all of them off anyway.I pre-soaked with PB Blaster on the nuts. This a torsion bar axle.Once the old assembly removed, easy to bolt on new one. I replace all 4 drums as well. All work fine now.Glad I found factory replacements and not an aftermarket brand.Happy with the product.
