No difference than any other pool light transformer

I am using this transformer to power low voltage lighting in my small fishpond. I am powering lighting underwater and outside the pond from several manufacturers using both LED and Halogen bulbs and it all works fine. The sturdy waterproof casing is easy to mount on any surface. I appreciated that all the electrical wiring is labelled and simple to hook up to power and the lighting wiring.

This is a bare bones transformer, but does have multiple voltage taps that permit adjustment for long and short runs, and differing load sizes. Easy to wire and install. Supply your own external photocell or timer.

We finally hit the limit of our existing transformer as we added additional WAC up-lights, so time for a larger transformer. This one is 200 watts, double our last one. This is not for those needing timing controls, but instead for those of us who don't. Extremely sturdy build, great stainless cabinet, 3 voltage options is very helpful and excellent mounting brackets top and bottom. In addition, besides punch outs for conduit, there are 2 rubber grommets for inserting electrical cables. I installed a 2-gang box, split a duplex outlet so one is hot and the other is controlled by a Lutron Caseta switch (integrates with our home automation system), and wired in a heavy duty power cord to the unit. CAUTION: do NOT follow the included directions regarding how to wire in the power cord. They suggest a 2-wire cord and electrical tape. no no no. Use a 3-prong outlet/cord and run the ground to ground bar in the unit. This is mandatory for code, as the box is metal. Also, and I know this is obvious, don't even consider twisting the wires and using electrical tape. Standard wire nuts of course. I used the 13v tap, though haven't measured the voltage at the furthest point to see what the overall drop is. All works fine and the unit runs very cool, unlike our previous 100w transformer. Great product overall and even looks good too.

I was looking for a 250w to 300w transformer to simply operate switched landscape lighting. I wanted no photocells, no timers, knockouts for hard wiring power, and it all came in a stainless package. For wiring, there are multiple possible locations, but on the bottom there are two rubber grommets that can be easily removed for access. There are two hangers to be installed for wall mounting, and good wiring instructions. Interestingly, there are output wires for 12V, 13V, and 14V. Currently, I am just using the 12V, but as I increase the wattage wired in the future, I may have to look at the option to bump up the voltage a bit.

Seems to work well and the price was fair for the product as it can be Ron with 12-14 volts. However the cover has started to rust. Works well but the cover is very unsightly now.

If you buy this you will need to have some wiring skills it’s not a plug and play do you need your own cord similar to when you buy a garbage disposalIf you have basic wiring skills it’s a solid unit and a great price I personally have mine hooked up to a smart switch which gives me the flexibility of timer and all the functions of a smart switch this is a no-brainer work great for me long distance wire runsI will definitely buy again
