Works fine, but the end is a little wobbly.

Used this to cut holes in Alumicore (thin plastic sandwiched between two thin sheets of aluminum about 1/8" thickness overall) material used in sign making. I know this is designed for drywall, but I chanced trying this out and it worked well. Both holes were about 8" in diameter.

Husband work in construction and it is the most convienient for where we live as there is a dewalt counter in our city for any repair or maintenance needed. their customer care and service is the best and hassle free of the affordable brand. This tool work as it is advertise and the cord makes it more powerful for bigger job than the battery one does.

This DEWALT rotary tool is a beast! It's got plenty of power to tackle any job I throw at it, from carving wood to engraving metal. The variable speed control is super handy, and the included collets make it easy to switch between different bits. It's a bit heavy, but the build quality feels rock-solid. Definitely a worthwhile investment for any serious DIYer or hobbyist.

I bought this tool for a bathroom remodel where I needed to cut out a tub surround to replace the tile and backer board with Durrock, Easy backer, or similar. I've fought through drywall removal by other methods for years but for this job, I decided I needed something quick and easy ... and this tool did exactly that. Using a plunge bit, the drywall was cut cleanly and QUICKLY - completely cut out an entire 3-wall tub surround in under 5 minutes! It left me asking myself "Why did I wait so long to buy this?" Even if I only had one bathroom remodel (or similar), it is well worth the price to buy this. It was easy to cut straight lines, stay on the lines I had marked, cut curves and ensure I was only cutting through the depth of the drywall. The cutting depth guide is easy to set accurately and stays in place (no shifting) during cutting. This tool would be easy to use for a DIYer through pro level. I opted for the corded model which worked fine but if you are doing a lot of remodeling, you might consider the cordless version. I rated it a 4 for versatility because it seems to be pretty specific to cutting drywall but I might find other uses, otherwise, this is rockstar tool to have in your arsenal.

My old house flooded again and we had to remove 4 feet of drywall. I started with a straight edge and a utility knife, and quickly realized that was too slow.I also routinely will install new outlets (either electric or home theater) and used to use a drywall saw or a dremel. Neither was particularly good, and I had a lot of ragged cuts.I used this to demo about 4 houses after the massive flooding in Houston last August. I know from experience that cutting a straight and clean line at 4’ is key for a good renovation, but also know that a good tool needs to get the job done quickly. This fit the bill. I started with a straight edge, but after 15 minutes I was able to cut free hand nice and straight (I have a Dewalt laser level to give me a line). The bits are durable; even so I’d recommend getting extras because a sharp bit makes a big difference. It really excels at cutting out outlet boxes in existing drywall. I made a jig for the cuts, and the cuts look professional. Very quick. As with all my Dewalt tools it is tough and powerful. Changing bits is quick once you figure out how to loosen and tighten the chuck. I’d suggest watching a video on this, as Dewalt tool instructions are kind of like using an old road map.Nice tool.

Excellent impressive tool -- but I expected this from DeWalt and I wasn't disappointed. Years ago I had purchased a rotozip brand tool and it burned out on first use. I had to finish what I was doing with a regular single speed Dremel Tool. So I was turned off by rotary tools. However I had a lot of cutout work to do -- carpenters lace type trim work for the porch and gable trim. I hate a scroll saw because of the pain of having to unhook and rehook the blade every time you start to cut in a new area; and I did not want to pay the expense of a band saw; I just would not use it often enough to justify and my jig saw just wasn't maneuverable enough in tight patterns. So I went to Amazon and asked for rotary saws to see what was out there and BAM -- there it was DeWalt! I don't care what anyone else says I LOVE DeWalt tools; they have never let me down. From my 10" table saw; 10" compound Miter saw; drills; sanders; planner; table router; trim router and now rotary saw my DeWalt tools have always served me well. This rotary saw cut through 3/4" hardwood and 3/4" treated exterior pine plywood -- yes folks, like a hot knife through butter. With the first cut I knew I had hit the jack-pot. There was no strain on the tool, it handled the wood effortlessly, and I had no trouble controlling it as I cut freehanded through the wood. The ring guide kept the blade perpendicular to the wood and the cuts were clean and smooth. I cut a lot of scallops; circles; scrolls; curls and whatnots through several pieces of 7 - 8 foot long boards and with this saw I did it fast. I bought just the saw because I did not know if it would work but I would advise people to also purchase the D-handle attachment you can get for it. I think it would make holding the tool more comfortable; especially if you are doing a lot of cutting. By the time I was finished I had cramps in my fingers for several days. And that is the ONLY complaint I have.I realize 7 foot long boards would have been very cumbersome to maneuver through a scroll saw or even a band saw and a jig saw just would have taken way too long. I did my whole project in one 2-day weekend. Thank you DeWalt! Thank you Amazon for getting it to me in less than 4 days!Oh and I forgot to mention, I am a 52 year old woman and I am proudly a woodworker with 23 years experience at the craft! So stand back -- look out -- I'm on fire now. When I get done the neighborhood will never be the same!
