I wanted a portable bandsaw primarily for things that would not fit in my metal cutting chop saw or my small bandsaw on wheels. This thing literally walked through a metal office chair I was breaking down for recycle.

This portable bandsaw is easy to use and does a great job. I needed it to cut metal and it went through it like a hot knife through butter. In the past, I have used Milwaukee portable bandsaws at other job sites. This was my first time using a DeWalt portable bandsaw. The quality of this tool was on par with that of the Milwaukee. If you are looking for a high quality portable bandsaw at a fair price, you owe it to yourself to check out the DCS374P2. I highly recommend this tool.

Didn't need one of these years ago as I purchased one of the original Porter Cable "port-a-band" corded models over 40 years ago. It was just too much of a hassle grabbing it and then plugging it in just for a couple of random steel cuts. So TODAY it's cordless all the way! Lightweight, handy, and the built in light really helps. It's likely just as good as all of their competitors out there BUT I already have enough Dewalt 20v max tools so I kept with them to utilize the same batteries! No regrets

Absolutely beast of a machine. It has the power to do quite a lot, but don't ask for it to do more than the blades are capable of. Do your research on TPI and the intended uses for the blades, because that will be the limiting factor. With the stock blade, it rips through rebar and other mild steels pretty easily. It's well-built, has pretty good battery life and does what it is supposed to do.

Awesome saw. really portable and cuts quickly. one thing i don't like is that the plastic wheel doesnt run staight. I'm talking about the one that is used when replacing bandsaw blades. When you operate the machine, you can see a slight woble when its moving. My cheap harbor freight bandsaw runs true, where as the dewalt has a slight woble. I sometimes, wonder if the bearing is going and that is the reason for the woble.

This thing is absolutely fantastic. I've used it to cut: plywood, MDF, Pine, Oak, Walnut, Padauk, Purple Heart, all sorts of plastics, cured carbon-fiber, 1/4" 6061 aluminum plate, aluminum rod and pipe, copper pipe, 1" brass plate, 1/8" wall steel plate, rod, pipe, angle and square stock, 1/4" wall steel angle, steel piano hinges... pretty much anything that needs cutting, this thing will do it with ease and no sparks. Still wanting to use it on a metal framing job as I want to see how it will cut through a bundle of metal studs in one go.The blade it comes with is... a crappy factory blade. Lenox makes some good ones, but the Mk-Morse 811 are the best I've used, and cut through anything and everything very quickly. Still on the first blade after about 5 charges on the 5ah battery (if you have this saw, you know that is a LOT of cutting) and doesn't seem to be any worse for the wear.

One of those tools that you only need once in a while but when you need it, you need it!I used this on a few projects so far and it's paid for itself on my first project. I used it to cut unistrut and threaded rods up in a lift and it not only saved me hours of work but also is sparkless so no need for fire extinguishers and hot work permits. Many many other uses also.
