Great caulking gun. Saves these old hand from cramps when caulking. One thing about this gun though, there is a pretty steep learning curve. It takes a very gentle touch when doing fine beads. This is better suited to broader beads, as fine beads create too much pressure on the tip, which in turn can split the cardboard caulking tube. The reverse is a nice feature, but if you’ve done any caulking at all, you know you can never stop the “drip”. So the “No drip” feature is a little exaggerated. Recommend

Nice unit. Well made tool. However, there is quite a learning curve to using it. Especially if you are used to using a manual caulk gun. The slowest setting is still quite fast for some things, so you may want to practice a bit if what your doing needs to look nice, close up. Like interior projects. If you have trouble with manual gun keeping a good bead, this provides a more consistent flow, but have to move at a good pace to keep up with flow. Its a good idea, but wish it could be readjusted to go slower than slowest setting.

I've always liked, and used Dewalt tools for decades now. I recently purchased a newer 20v drill, but still have a working 14.4v too. I ain't getting any younger, and my list of stuff to get done never seems to get any shorter.I was using the old fashioned type caulking gun, and noticed my forearms, and hands just don't have the strength they used to have, and found myself struggling to get through what should have been a short project. So I thought: "I wonder if they make a powered caulking gun?"Enter the DEWALT 20V MAX Caulking Gun, Cordless, 10oz, Variable Speed Trigger, Interchangeable Canister Trays, Bare Tool Only (DCE560B)I picked it up June 22, 2024, and wanted to wait until I had a chance to use it before posting a review.First, I don't care if your a pro, or a seasoned DIY'er, your going to need to put in a little bit of practice before you dive into a project. This one comes with variable six speeds, and I haven't yet found a reason to go past two. The material I'm working with flows PDQ. Perhaps with a thicker material, I'd use a setting higher than two.Second, I found that on setting one, if I flick the trigger, and let the material flow, I get a great bead going, then wait for it to slow a bit, "trigger flick", wait for it to slow, and on like that til the job is done.If I squeeze the trigger all the way down, and run a bead, when I release the trigger, the anti-drip kicks in and draws the plunger back. You'll see what I mean once you get a chance to use this cool caulking gun,At any rate you'll pry this great DeWalt tool from my cold dead hands before I part with it. I've redone all the exterior window sills, as well as some gaps in the eves, and all the exterior wood trim around the windows and doors. No sore hands or forearms, I get a ton of work done, and the results look great! Thanks DeWalt!

I discovered that the Dewalt Caulking Gun works Great if you make sure the Tube of the Caulk has the Tip Cut and the SEAL Inside the Tube is Pierced. My Gun worked fine on one Brand of Caulk and started Failing with other Brands. The Caulk started backing up in the gun and beyond the plunger. Caulk Companies are not telling people that they are sealing some of the Tubes in addition to requiring you cut the end of the nozzle. Many people are throwing away tubes of Caulk and think that the Dewalt Caulking Gun is Failing. The Dewalt Tool is not Failing; it's the Unpierced Tube of Caulk. I don't know why the Caulk Companies are not telling people to Pierce the Tube after Cutting the End of the Tube. I wasted 4 tubes of Caulk before I figured out what was happening. I am beyond Happy with this Tool and Highly Recommend it to the Professional and to all Do It Yourselfers. I rate this Tool a 10+++++++. Dewalt has a metal piece mounted on the gun that lets you pierce all internal seals. Enjoy this Tool! It saved me days doing barn roofs.

Works fantastic and gives a nice steady bead. Get one! and never worry about a steady pump again. Dial on gun easily controls flow from slow (like REAL slow) to 'i gotta get this job done now' fast! cant say enough about how good this works.

It's been awhile since I've been excited about a tool. After applying a large quantity of roofing sealant with a hand caulking gun, I told myself I'd look for a cordless gun to make it easier on myself. Although there are less expensive and highly reviewed cordless guns out there, I'm already invested in Dewalts 20V Max batteries and therefore was limited to one of their guns at a price point $50 more expensive (gun only). But after using the gun on a small project, I wish I had bought one sooner. It's a dream to install caulking now.Positives about the gun:- Relatively lightweight even with the battery and a full tube- Speed setting allows for perfect control of the caulk- The tool isn't metal, but seems well made even in plastic. I don't expect a caulking gun to be heavy duty, unlike say, a miter saw.- The reverse attribution at the end of a dispense is a nice touch and neededNegatives- It would be nice if it was possible to swap to a larger tube size. I believe another reviewer said this is possible because the larger gun tube holder will fit this gun, even if Dewalt says it isn't the case. Regardless, I personally use standard size tubes so not a deal breaker.- I think the price point of the gun is a bit high, especially since this is a bare bones tool purchase without a battery. But I understand, why they do this, so folks that have not invested in Dewalt will have to purchase the tool with a battery. For those of us who have invested, I feel like we are penalized, having to pay higher prices for a tool without the battery. All in all, I am happy with the gun and look forward to using it. I think it's a good addition to my Dewalt tool line.Update:Now that I've used the tool, I have a couple more things to add in my review. The caulking tube metal puncture rod at first, would not stay secure. Then, it just broke off at the metal rivet. Total design flaw that should be corrected. The plastic sleeve that holds the tube, IS SHATTERPROOF, unlike one reviewer mentioned. All in all I am still happy with the purchase of this gun. There's a slight learning curve to the process compared to using a manual caulking gun, but you'll figure it out quickly and easily.
