This Devmo 16-key membrane switch keypad is thin and has an adhesive backing making it good for projects where you need a ultra low profile keypad that is also splash resistant. It is compatible with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The keypad is attached to 8-pin female header on a flat cable, keeping the profile flat for your projects and applications that need it. The schematics and keypad library are not provided but can be found online.

These membrane keypads from Devmo comes in a 2 pack. These switches are great for project that requires limited UI with a compact design. These keyboards works with Arduino microcontrollers, but I will have to do a bit of research for the best codes. These keyboards will work best when adhered to a solid surface since there is quite a bit of flex. The pricing is good if you need this 2 pack.

This panel seems robust and well designed. I would like the contact resistance be higher. I checked the values with a multimeter, and they varied between 400 and 700 ohms. This is perhaps okay, but I will be adding four resistors in series with either the horizontal or the vertical lines, to ensure no real current. After removing the film on the back, in order to use the adhesive, the wiring becomes visible. The 8 lines are divided along the middle, with four lines going vertically and four horizontally. After attaching it on a surface, I had to peel it off once before replacing it, and that put some heavy strain on the panel, and I was sure it wouldn't work afterwards, being so severely bent while pulled off, but it worked fine, with nice click feel of the buttons.Overall a good buy.I haven't written code for scanning this yet, but that should be easy enough, cycling over four lines (the vertical or horizontal group) designated as output, setting one high at a time, then scanning the other four, set as inputs. An i2c interface would be nice, but this will do fine.

Pretty decent matrix keypads of the type you normally find in kits, since it works as a matrix you have 4 lines for rows and 4 lines for columns although if you are using less keys than that you can get away with fewer actual connections. The fact that it nominally uses 8 pins can be a bit annoying since pins are a limited resource for most development boards. The only real complaint is I wish it was a bit more reinforced like a thin plastic frame but in a snap it works as intended.

I got these keypads to use for future project. I just tested the contact resistance andIt seems with in specs, I measuring anywhere between 29 and 50 ohms, with a nice solidConnection.. The pad itself is very thin and flimsy, that’s not a bad thing, but needs to mounted’ to something flat. You can remove paper from backing and it has adhesive to mount. These did not come with any documentation, but you can find the pin out easy enough with internet search.

I used a pad to bypass a malfunctioning OEM membrane switch assembly on my Maytag Neptune dryer.
