Interesting construction, it is a two piece unit. The cone and barb are separate from the threaded nut allowing it to be taken apart without disconnecting the hoses. You still need to back up the fitting with a second wrench.

this item is silver in color and its aluminum, it is a 2 piece item, the hose barb is a separate part from the threaded section.it should work fine for my use on automobile transmission fluid lines.
