This replacement light is wonderful. It comes with all the parts - the socket, the spring assembly and the bulb. It's fairly easy to install, but does require some strength. I needed help with that part, but figuring it out was no problem at all. It does not come with instructions, but I was able to look at the one on the other side and figure it out.I would highly recommend this product, with no reservations at all. Great product - fast shipping and easy to install, and GREAT PRICE!!!

This is of poor quality. Its been two months and there is a large amount of water getting in somehow. It might be due to a poor seal around it. I wouldnt ever buy it again. If the price is too good to be true. Now im stuck with i cant return it. Horrible product!!!

Perfect. came ready to install, & on time.. took 5 minutes to install.I'm back here reviewing this after i got this(left side) a couple months ago. Now my right side broke and flew off into the distance on the highway. It's ridiculous how poor of a design Volkswagen had for this model... imagine this car entering the atmosphere at 100,000-mph tearing apart, BUT on the highway doing 65mph. Long story short, good product. better quality plastic hook than original.Currently in the process of purchasing the right side.

I love my new turnsignal light for my 00 Passat! My old one was gross and discolored, and the bulb finally went out. So I just decided to replace the whole thing. I love Depo, I've purchased new headlights from them too, and my driver's side turnsignal when it got knocked out a year ago by a bad parallel parker. All the light assemblies they sell seem to have bulbs included. The turnsignals are so easy to replace, a monkey could do it. Well... almost. You may have a little work getting to it, especially this passenger side one. I had a little trouble with the plastic piece that helps you pull the spring back to lock it in place. It's the little black piece you can see sticking out the back of the headlight in the photo. The spring kept popping out of the plastic pull just when I about had it hooked onto the frame. But if that happens to you it probably just means you're pulling from an awkward angle or you need to disconnect some more stuff and get it out of the way so you have more room to maneuver. As soon as I disconnected and removed the stuff was in the way, hooking it in took 2 seconds. Minor auto experience is probably going to help you get this done, but it's pretty simple to figure out either way.

This replacement parking light/blinker fit my 2000 VW Passat GLX perfectly. It appears to be OEM quality. A word to the wise, however. There are no installation directions in the package so it is imperative that you know what you are doing. The tabs on the unit have to slide into the respective slots on the car. Secondly,l you have to make sure the spring is properly attached to the eyelet on the unit. Finally, you have to know where the plastic hook on the spring is attached to the car. If you have access to a Bentley or other manual for your car, the directions are pretty clear. If you don't have such a manual, you should because after all, you are driving a 13 year old car around, and the mechanic in the middle of nowhere might not know how to fix your car if you have a breakdown in an area without a VW dealer nearby. I looked at the YouTube video mentioned in other reviews, and that was most helpful. I also have the above referenced Bentley manual. The entire process took less than five minutes for a perfect fit, and it only took that long because I like to study what I'm doing very carefully before getting into a repair. My motto is to never attempt to repair something if you didn't know how it worked in the first place. The bulb that came with the unit is a slightly darker shade of amber than the OEM bulb on the passenger side, but that doesn't bug me in the slightest. If this were a new car, it would, but it could be easily resolved by purchasing two matching bulbs. I have an outstanding VW dealership in my city. Therefore, I'm a believer in letting their mechanics perform the regular service work on my car, and that is probably why I have had this one for so long with very few mechanical problems. However, you don't need to pay the OEM price for this replacement part and a big labor charge for five minutes of work. If you are the slightest bit mechanically inclined, you won't have a problem. Remember, the tabs and the spring latch are the keys to the program here. The broken out plastic eyelet on the lamp assembly is probably why you are in this predicament in the first place.

My oldest son has a 2000 VW Passat and managed to break one of his side lights hitting a deer. When he was due for his latest inspection we knew we had to replace the broken one and searched on Amazon for a suitable replacement. I was glad to see the price on this unit, so glad I bought the matching unit for the other side so they would look the same. I even replaced the front headlamp assemblies as well.Removal of the old units was easy, literally unplug and pull one ring to release a retaining spring. Installation was also easy, but be careful when repositioning the retaining spring as it can unhook from the assembly.VW sure engineered a very easy to service front/side light assembly system.
